Those graphics are just awful. No new JP's for me this year. I know shape is most important , but I still need to feel warm and fussy about the look as well.
2010 wave single is the best ever. How can it go so bad so quickly. I bet sales drop this year.

Had her 13 years now and unfortunately her graphics are slightly worn and there's one or two dings that may need filling.

[just joking too........there are no dings!]

I like the concept of a detuned Formula/Slalom board. I actually think there is a real demand for this product. Actually a lot of fun to sail.

Have seen the biggy single/thruster today, the quicky beach photos do not do it justice, very nice indeed, definitely looks the biz for us slightly larger gentlemen

Considering that to the normal recreational sailor the performance of many boards regardless of brand is so close to one another I would suggest that many would buy first on price and service, and second on the look of the board. This is the market all brands actually survive from, as the high end sailors make up a smaller percentage of the market and often don't pay full price for gear.

As for the new/old concept arguement, until you have actually seen the board in the flesh (or epoxy as the case may be) and ridden it I don't see how you can truly judge.

JP Australia 2011 Single Thruster :

It would be very interesting to see the underside of this board! Still think the colors and graphics look bloody $hite though!

I would have picked it up and taken a shot underneath but martin was standing a meter away. They were using it for bikini shots under a palm tree with (? - one of blondes) for JP photoshoot - I took that pic with my papparzzi cell phone at sprecks. thrusters & quads are picking up speed on maui as the twinsers loose momentum. happy sailing - rebecca

Sorry, having technical difficulties might have already posted this - I would have picked it up and taken a pic of the bottom but the jp big wigs were standing a meter away. they were using it for bikini shots under the palms at sprecks with (? one of the blondes they flew in). thrusters and quads seem to be picking up speed over twinsers. happy sailing - rebecca

JP/NP are keeping there new gear well guarded by the looks. So much info on nearly every other brand is available.

Well this is what happens when big companys like neil pryde, buy out smaller brands, i spose.. It sort of looks japanize, and kitey, it's not a jp, it's a neil pryed sailboard

unfortunately my friend many of your favourite brands are owned by the same mothership.

and in regards to the graffix.

Its bloody hard not to copy or make similar colours schemes to older ranges or other boards.

if you dont like it cos it looks bad not cos how it rides maybe you should be boogie boarding or peddling a road bike.
who cares for colour as long as it rips.

99 single thruster concept sounds good for a one board wave & B&J solution for fatty boombahs like me down this way in gusty central need the float sort of wave sailin - be interesting to give one a test ride - hasn't stoney in gero been makin them for years - I am sure one of the boys has been riding a 70 something model for the past few winters

2 twinser quads plus a single thruster all in one range, getting way to confusing. At $3k a pop you wanna choose wisely but how do you pick one?

Antoine Albeau and Micah Buzianis in action with the JP Australia Super Light Wind 90 V154 Pro et Gold Editions :

Pics Thorsten Indra / www.jp-australia.com

Had 2 session on the SLW, it's everything they say and a little bit more

It's not a formula board, It's not a slalom board, It's not a freeride board.
It's something else (besides huge)

I have Just purchased a 154 Lightwind and have to say I am overwhelmed at how good it performs. It handles like a slalom board but performs upwind and down wind like a formula board. You can jibe it and use it all day without getting foot cramps like a formula board. I was planning with a 7.8m in 9 knots and was still comfortable when my wind guage read 19 knots still with the 7.8m up. I give it a big recommendation to those who like to sail when the rest of the guys are sitting on the beach waiting for the wind to arrive. I plane before the kiters.
