Shout out to the orange subi sitting behind me on the highway

Mooloolaba was a lot of fun.

wind was 3-5 knots from the ESE-E which is cross shore with a slight off component. perfect little glassy waves. really good direction there and reasonably consistent although light.

started on the sup with knee to waist high waves.switching between myself and my son.
then went out with a 6.2m apex and my son on his 3m xs-3.

It was my sons first time in the surf and he had a ball. it wasn't epic but it was a perfect day

will go again some time.

not really one week out but its an idea of what is possible.

i dont pay much attention to seabreeze but the bom meteye is a very sophisticated model and usually in the ball park. its showing se by the way.. ecmwf is also very good with lows.

this time of year the chances of the forecast being correct are very very low. im not so worried about wind strength just direction. theres always something on offer and if not theres surfing and mountain biking.

Havnt had this much time off the water since i started back in October 2016.
Yeah theres plenty of 'other' stuff to do. But nowhere near as much fun as fangin around windsurfin.

the crew sailed the sw in brisbane on the weekend and it was pumping south of the border.

go south and you will achieve satisfaction.

for me mtb and supping and windsupping provides just as good a hit.

^^ 2017 i sailed 73 times april- october. Last year was a flop in comparison. Summer sesh didnt really occur. A few choice friday seshs november- december. But generally poor.

yep. global warming i suspect.

the wind just doesnt seem as good as it used to be. the se'rs are really gusty and not as regular and the ne just dont seem to get as strong.

we used to get freezing westerlies but they just dont eventuate as much anymore either.

bit sad really.

We must be immuned to global warming here in the north then, I've sailed more since Jan 1 this year than all of 2018, and on much smaller gear

Yeah Darkman, blowing its arse off this week, hopefully still some left on the weekend.

I actually took delivery of an 84 litre FSW board this week from a fellow SB'er in Melbourne, hopefully that doesn't put the mocker on it. A 2009 model JP in mint condition, been stored in a garage for years with virtually no use.

Hope you get a wind fix soon!

On big hightide about waist deep at best. About 2hrs worth. Its kinda like a secret fishing spot. All the requirements hafta be met or it just doesnt fire. Its really a kids zone mostly knee deep. Even when OMA was crankin n Shifu sailed with us, i was repeatedly snickin bottom thru the troughs with 34cm fin in 40cm chop in knee deep water!!!.

Had a few interesting moments as the wind bumped over 30+kts n the tide dropped late in the day.

Put it this way it was that shallow if the board was planing no dramas.But if you had to beach start it or dropped off the plane it was too shallow n had to walk to find deep enough water to stop the 34cm fin dragging. Sketchy but a great rush in 30kts wind. One of the locals tried it the next arvo, on slightly less tide.26cm fin. 2 MONSTER CATAPULTS. Resulted in lots of bark missing from his shins n a crunched board. Definately not an everyday location.

You guys should have started sailing earlier in the day. There was definitely enough water .

Hey Mate, i sailed there from 11am. Launched near the pines. While you 3 guys were bump n jump out from snake gully..Was up on the bank in the distance to the far left of pic. At deepest it was up over my knee.

i kept a track and the boms computer model pretty much nailed the forecast one week out.

see how mext week goes.
