Not a lot of wind today. Some got planing in gusts with big rigs. I went out on the longboard. Practiced gybes in the evening on the training board

I was mesmerised at one stage looking back to camp and seeing all the sails dancing across the water

Life is great

I am assuming Jeff and the rest of the crew are too busy enjoying themselves to reply. That board is a Starboard Start I believe.

Saturday wind delivered something for everybody

Good 6-7m conditions most of the day. Sailboards everywhere

In the morning I went over to Booreen and worked with Tony on downwind sailing and trying to work on a sailing platform/rig that may get me around a racecourse without falling off

Back at Elanda I marvelled at the experienced sailers in powered up conditions. It was a joy to see one rider come in on an isonic riding on air gently clipping the top of the chop as they stayed perfectly settled

I went out a little later (needed recovery time) on my BIC techno 283 with Ezzy 8.5 (fanatic was in rehab) and had a great afternoon planing in the declining conditions.

There was retro magic on the water. Geoff on his F2 Sputnik 270 powered by a raceboard 9.5 sail

His 14yo son was smashing it on an old school Tiga short board. Great to meet you both out on the water

Sunday was rest/social time and a pleasant day at the Windwanders get together. Waterloo has arrived with a trailer full of carbon magic. A late night in Morgs 'Bar and Grill'

Monday morning millpond conditions in the morning - SUPs an Kayaks plus board repairs.




Jane got back out on the *board START - so proud of my girl. A few of us practiced light wind skills. I fell off a lot!

Afternoon breeze kicked in and it was planing conditions again with bigger gear. I couldn't find the Fairy dust on the water this time and spent my time chasing gusts to no avail. I was back on the Fanatic and can happily report its stable enough to uphaul when the wind drops. This has been a concern for me on the BIC - lots of love for the blue baby but mainly use it when water starting is guaranteed

Morgs and Jay looked great doing the father and son thing sailing out in gentle conditions when the rest of us were already in. Just like the way Morgan's Rio long tail delivers in all conditions.

I met Gavin who was getting back into the sport (always a good sign). He found and old Tyronsea at the tip and pulled out his old school sails from the back of the shed. He was off and sailing again - he was stoked. He plans to bring his grandson back at Christmas and get him started.

There will be wind for a committed longboard rider

We were out on longboards yesterday afternoon - punishing gusty northerly winds. Tony managed 19.8knots in the gusts however as the results came in later in the evening - Morgs confirmed 20knts on his Rio Longtail. Higher speeds were recorded by Andy on his futura short board (28knt) and Waterloo on his Carbon Kona (26). Jay Naish Nitrix 7.5 21knts

I had a long board moment when I was confidently gaining on Morgs (Rio 8.5) with the F2 lightning well powered up on 8.5 Ezzy only to have Morgs get well and truly on the plane and leave me well behind. Very impressive to watch him accelerate away - something to be said for hybrid boards

Learners went out in the gentle morning winds. A little difficulties as the northerly increased in gustyness - some drifting away from the beach with the offshore winds. A watchful eye was kept and all the flock was rounded up

Sounds like you're having a good time. Took me 2 days to recover from Saturday morning up there. Clocked 19knts on the Bamba/7.8. Gave the fin a good scraping on the rocks in the shallows north of the campsites. Warning to self - stay away from the rocks.

Trainer sails out in the gentle lunchtime winds - then afternoon blast!!

Wind up in the arvo - northerly with a bit better direction, not so gusty
I wanted guaranteed planing - SLW 66cm fin and 9.5ezzy - I must say the power was a little on the brutal side
More fairy dust/magic sprinkled on the water.

Planing - flying across the chop WAHOO. Had a couple of runs where the chop felt like it didn't exist - board flat and fast.
After talking to Dave at Windwanders meet up I tried back foot first and can say it is showing a lot of promise Seems more manageable on the big wide fat ar@@@se SLW

Tony-Nowork- talked me into prepping the carve 131 - it's been neglected in the quiver for a long time. Powered up with 8.5 sail tony really got it going - 'best day he has had on the water' appreciate him sorting it out for me

Morgs had a breakthrough - looking forward to reading his version of events

Thursday was a repeat of Wednesday - who can complain

Managed a couple of fast runs without hoping off the end - did the gracefull thing and slowed down for a tack

Antc is up to taste some shortboard magic/heartache - well underway to getting the GO155 moving

9 of us doing long runs and meeting back at Peter's bouy for a debrief - love sailing with friends

Friday morning all the beginners out on training boards and some longboard action happening.

Another great day on the water Thursday - I took out the Naish Kailua 180 and not only got it planning but into the back straps. 20 knots

Ben made it out with a ezzy 7.5 (thanks Jeffrey) and had a blast on the Rio Longtail

Jaye - out on his Naish 135 with 7.5 m NP sail smashing it and Jill offered a go on her 122 futura and 6m Hot sail Maui had a blast -:-( forgot to switch on GPS
