Thanks for the loan of the boom Pete..Could have been pretty ugly out wide alone had mine not given me notice it was split and ready to go. Shame it was 40 min into trying to crack the 20 mile hour. Good to know you guys are down there . Had a great sail and gave it another go and had some awesome runs with mark on his little Jp as it flattened out.. Made it back upwind with the wind going yo yo walk the dog at times.. So at least l got my pb of 75 km distance respectable.. I didn,t crack the 30 knt barrier with it or your boom either just in case you wouldn,t loan me anything else. Just as a matter of interest who has the bribie volunteer marine rescue in their phone.. Great shot paddles of Pete and the pope but it is a long way out upwind from the park bench without the popes outboard and boat on hand and that dingy moored up the beach doesn,t have oars.

Another cracker day at sandstone Four of us on the water with the wind ranging from 12 to 25 knots, mainly around the 16-18 mark I rigged a 6.0 that seemed to work most of the time, Jeff was on a 7.0, pope John was on a 5.5 and Mark was on a 5.2 and we all managed to get a good days sailing in. Livin the dream!!!!!.
Where to go in an easterly? Golden beach might be fun, but I took 2h 15m to drive 25km this morning, so maybe not. Hopefully the 15knots will arrive down here as well. See what the morning brings.

Not really sure how the front at Redcliffe would be, lots of reef to contend with. Scarborough might be okay out past the wind shadow, but needs high tide.

Always best done in the absence of the greenies I reckon ignore the ones this Tuesday and watch the Wednesday ones grow and multiply . So anyone else with the day off. Make sure your long battle gear doesn,t have rat chews and siezed zips though. Cause those cross country d bay greeniies bite and can be real dropouts so rig rig for their dull lulls and hang in their when they go off. I intend to confront them at the bongaree front and use the banks for the early bottom tide. Any leftovers during the incoming can be then dealt with later by anyone prepared on the right flank at sandstone. Survivors can try again Thursday.. Bring it on greenies.. Make our day . More the better. Before l blow a piston and start blowing smoke and fire out in the bush and start a coal mine.
Matt and Dylan rode well Johnno, it was great to see their pace increase as they got more confident with their machines. Good to see you having a go too when you could finally grab a bike off them. There's some good suspension and carburettor settings for Matt's bike available online with motocross action magazine in the USA, google it, he was sounding keen on setting up his bike to get the most out of it. I drummed it into both of them to keep their bikes clinically clean, (oil/filter, fuel/carby, and external washing) and keep the maintenance up and they'll always have reliable bikes that go well and cost less money to keep running.
Got my feet wet at Woody Point. Took at friends inflatable Wind Sup for a test drive. Good fun drifting around, just had to answer all the questions back on the beach when packing up.
Any plans for next weekend? I am sailing somewhere Sunday, longboards or SUP's if need be. Anybody in regardless of forecast?
Otherwise we will be discussing power tools and lawn edger's next.

No more wind for a couple of weeks now, Pete and I just used up the last of it this arvo at Turner's. Pete was trying out his new 6.6 and was planing only in the gusts, I rigged my 8.5 and zipped along a bit more but still got caught out in the holes. Pete got 8-12 knots on his wind gauge so it was about the minimum wind for a sail. We couldn't even convince Adam to sail because he had chores to do and was too scared getting into trouble because he was supposed to have done them over the weekend.
Awesome unbreakable rig wade. Love the trusty sail number. Enjoy many knots of apparent wind she will create. Are you hiding the board racks or are you just gonna hire the gear when you run out of land on the west coast. Beware flinders reef just before you hit the east coast again and don,t forget your GPS.
Went to sandstone yesterday, desperate times call for desperate measures. Marginal conditions would be exaggerating a touch. Got planing on an 8.2 for about 50 meters and that was it for the day. Got some rigging practice in and no amount of tuning will make the wind blow any harder. Even when I de- rigged it only came up a couple of knots instead of the usual five.......could have done with your hypersonic and 9.5 Jeff even the high tide was low
Got a quick sail (whilst away for work) down the central coast NSW. Borrowed some gear from my brother. Westerly and not too much but was worth getting wet.
