Hope the trusty s. Easters return for burrum heads windfest next week. Got talking with Jeff about motorbikes. Seems his need for adrenaline rush needs go way back a and that was his old passion. My son and myself ride often up through glasshouse area. He told me Andrew l thought you meant pushbikes but Jeff tells me its motorbikes.. Tony and wade also have trail bikes. How many more are there out there. Or for that matter who does downhill mountain bikes and knows the track on road to Woodford where we ride.
Can,t help but notice all the 4wd,s too. Lets face it. We are all outdoor adrenaline junkies. And we should but our heads together to share it.
Did you know Jason polakow also rode motorcross when there wasn,t enough wind. Wonder if he ever managed a forward or if he described his jumps by mast height.

Haha, I agree Jonno - we're all adrenaline junkies. Although I do notice I'm getting old and slow now, and content to sit around where I used to be always doing everything non stop like a blue-arsed fly.

I did pushbikes too - for about 13 years I raced road and some track cycling in clubs, did a few state championships and so on. I was totally obsessed, at a time when nobody much here in Australia was interested in cycling at all. When I gave it up I went back into the RC gliders which is where I met Jeff. He was the composite construction guru and we all learnt heaps from him passing on his hard-learnt info. With the gliders I was into slope soaring but got obsessed with dynamic soaring ... now that's an adrenaline junkie activity. Google it. Heavy RC gliders with no motors accelerating to insane speeds on the downwind side of a ridge, in the right conditions. I went to California twice to experience the real deal with their winds and hills, and more recently to NZ. The world record for dynamic soaring is 513mph ... (825mph) ... I have only flown my planes to just over 300mph, but I've radar gunned the speeds at 460mph. Standing on a hill with a 11kg missile heading right at you at those speeds is sort of interesting ...

I did dirt bikes a lot when I was younger and even raced some one day enduros with reasonable success and absolutely loved it and thought I'd never be without a dirt bike. But windsurfing took over as the obsession in the late '80's. Then the cycling. Then the dynamic soaring. Always some full-on obsession. These days I've backed off the gliders a lot and am reviving some old skills by getting back into the dirt bikes and windsurfing!

Really looking forward to getting together on bikes with some of you guys ... I am a fairly gumby rider and can show you how to fall off a lot!

I was hooked on RC Gliders also I think I might have seen you fly at Bandicoot Ridge once crazy day 40kt westerly when a mate Ken and I came to watch.

At least you got a sail in Brad, it was so light I didn't bother on saturday and just did an early road ride on the pushy with the girls before hitting the mx track late afternoon. Sunday was day on the green and I need to harden up, I was flaked out in my chair before it even got dark .......... stupid vodka! Hey Wade, I thought you already had a Hobie 16!

Yeah but a Hobie 17 is 1 foot better.
I am selling the 16. Atleast the 17 is designed for 1 person but handles a few easily. The 16 is a handful on your own.

Our daughter and grandkids etc are camping at Elanda Point so Janet wants to load up the van with our gear and go up to visit for the day tomorrow (Saturday) and do plenty of windsurfing. We should be up there around 10am I think, and staying till 4pm or so.

If anyone else is keen, we'd love the company.

Our daughter messaged a photo of someone windsurfing there about an hour ago, so someone's already there.

I think I'm out this weekend guys and the forecast looks quite good. Gotta go to a wedding at Kingscliffe Saturday evening but if I'm home early enough on Sunday and the wind is in I'll probably be keen.

Still at burrum windfest with Jeff. Has been wind everyday up to or just over 15 every arvo. Heading back sun. Thinking rather than wait for tide and wind all morning to leave here early to catch the early arvo session down there. Otherwise it is leave late tomorrow and long drive late. Too loaded up for dirt bikes Andrew . Hoping for s wind report down there from somene close late tonight or super early. Still wind here but bscks off in morning.. About to start loading tonight . Festivies are over and l,m keen to sail and beat morning traffic if its a goer rather than struggle home tomorrow night. Any other night owls send us a hoot and have another coffee. Wake me if you find me sleeping on the beach on the incoming tide in the morning.

Great to be back with the gang again.
Everbodys sailing has improved remarkably in the the six weeks I was away - except mine due to only three sessions in that time.
Ill just have to catch up and lose those four kg I packed on in the holiday. I'll be there tomorrow again, see you all there!!
