Anyone end up heading to beachmere this weekend? If so, how was it?

Wilba and I went for a little sesh but the wind wasnt quite strong enough.... 12-15 knts.. Enough to plane but not to do much more.... Also the tide was going out so the waves wernt forming as good as when it is coming in.... A bit of fun tho...

yeah it would be good if there was more people there is no way it ccould get crowded

Maybe not out in the water, but I can def see the car park getting crowded with more than 10 vehicles.... But Id prefer to see lots there and the car park crowded than no one there at all....

You know sandgate has pretty much the same conditions at high tide it seems? Usually the kiters don't go out on the high tide, so its pretty empty... but on the low tide its full of kiters....

but i don't really mind.. but yeh, it is closer than beachie for those more south...

Very interesting, although Beachmere did delivered nicely today

Does sandgate have the nice biggish ramps? With a sideshoreish direction?

Always open to exploring new ideas!

Sandgate is good for kiters because it is shallow... not so good for us. Only really sailable an hour or two either side of the height of a king tide. Any other time a very long walk is what you face, along with a lot it kiters. Can't really compare with Beachmere. I have sailed from Nudgee beach to Sandgate on a NE which is quite nice, but once again you really need a full tide, otherwise a long hike with your gear.

Beachmere ain't exactly sideshore, calling it cross on is even a bit of a stretch!

the shallow part at sandgate drops away and gets deep quickly i have sailed sandgate a few time and it's good not as good ramps as beachmere and kiters are stil there at high tide :( also the ramps end atthe end of the shallow part

I guess it depends which direction the wind is blowing

Sounds like it can't compare to beachie then.... oh wellll... lol.

Well, I think sandgate gets a nice swell sometimes... but on low tide its small... and yeh... when the tide is low its a long walk out.. agreeded....
