Opinions welcome on interfacing :
- one short button press shows the device is alive, LED blinks the battery status, 3 times red : 80%,
- two short button presses does nothing, to avoid missclicks,
- three short button presses starts WiFi, LED stays green,
- four short button presses does nothing, to avoid missclicks,
- five short button presses shuts it down, LED goes red briefly,
- one very long button press (re)starts it in WiFi safe mode, LED stays red,
- placing it on a charger blinks the battery status as above every 5 minutes.
General convention (say your phone, or a GT31) is:
- If it's off, Long button hold (3 sec) to turn on
- If it's on, Long button hold (3 sec) to turn off
Would this be better to reduce wear on the button (ie 5 clicks is a lot)?
The single short press for a "status update" sounds good.
