Me too. Julien I'm happy to wait for whatever version you next release. As said by many we understand it's a very difficult process!

Now, the problem for the screens is lack of alternatives. The first ones were awesome and never failed. They will never be produced again and my search for "old stocks" has run dry. I was lucky to find 65 more six months ago. The current ones fail for some reason I can't reproduce here. Some even "un-fail" later in time. I'm trying this third type as a last hope simply because after it, there's no more to try. Everyone loves the big very readable display, I'd hate to move to something unreadable or smaller or that would halve battery life or even less obtainable (looking at you Sharp Memory LCD). Also, I'd have to redo the molds and it takes ages.

Bummer. The failure you mention - is that the vertical lines? On my unit that had the vertical line in the middle of the screen, the line was very obvious at home, but barely visible in bright daylight. It did eventually disappear completely, but then the other unit started showing the same line. But similar to what aussieboats said above, the vertical line really does not impacted usability at all for my units. Did it get much worse for others, so that the screen became useless?

That's the issue in the issue. Nothing makes sense. And I never had a reliable lead. I thought of pressure, static electricity, packaging foam, sunlight, heat, cold, freeze, x-rays, knocks, twists. But I never get twice the same path to the issue. Hell, if I try to break one here, I need to hit it strongly with a screwdriver. Pressing on it, twisting it, curving it, bathing it does nothing. I drove with some for weeks like I was FedEx and nothing. I had one go nearly black in October and when the user restarted it last week, it was good as new. Out of the ten I sent in the past weeks to Australia, three have lines but I don't have news from other users. All those in Luderitz had lines eventually. Gunnar's device spent three days in the canal and got out fine.
