GPS Display Maximum Speed: 25.8 knts
Conditions: Varied! 12 - 15knts @ 1700; 18 - 21knts @ 1800; 23 - 28 knts @ 1900. Confused chop and small waves to 0.5m. 20 deg was a bit chilly. Rain and some lightning early but it moved north.
Equipment: 'hybrid' slalom board / 6.4m sail / 27cm finworks slalom fin
Details about Self: same but with headache 24 hours later and counting (see below)
Comments: My second go with the Navi, near Sydney AP with the southerly change coming in. Tough going right at the end with larger chop and stuck with a 6.4m in the ~30knt gusts.
I've learned a lot from this run, after reading up on Ask the Guru post. My sail was way to big by the end, and rigged like crap. Fin was too small as I spun out about once per run. I think the boom was too low as well, although this saved me from even further injury from one really nice catapult at speed - right in front of a Qantas 767 too, I think I've put off about 250 people from ever windsurfing.
I think GPS is going to be a great way to gradually improve though, along with the info from this site. Time to face the finer issues I tend to ignore like fin choice and correct rigging.
lots of strange tracks in this file, maybe due to storm?
