How does Keahi keep the board with him in midair without straps???

Its a combination of presenting the underside of the board to the actual wind combined with the apparent wind and inertia and gravity and skill - and magic.

Yeh, so after 3 pages it seems like:

It's about having fun. Whether that's frothing or bagging videos on this thread, or getting out on the water.

Most of us would probably agree that the videos on this thread are of those who rip the most, and they are the ones that push the sports forward.

Kiting over the last 10 years seems to have progressed like windsurfing did over the last 25 years.

Windsurfing rules in big waves at the moment. But once Polakow, Naish or McKercher have walking frames in their hands instead of wishbones, there aren't many young windsurfers coming through. Sad but true?!

So what do you reckon the videos to a similar forum thread to this one in 10 or 15 years will look like?

;)

There are plenty of young sailors who are taking windsurfing in waves to new levels. Kauli has progressed the wave riding, making it more like surfing, Brawzinho, Campello, Siver etc have added freestyle tricks and Koster is doing incredible jumps.

This is Kauli riding switch.

At 1.13 in the first video i see the kiting gear is all packed up and safely in the car, must be a universal thing as soon as the wind gets over 20 knots. You extreme kiters you.

Yeh kiting and extreme don't go together at all!

This guy beat Naish at Hookipa ages ago and has gone on to doing some crazy stuff - like snow kiting off the top of a mountain to the bottom
