I am now used to get comfortable rides with 115+/800/-255 on FMX slalom 91 but I felt 105 slippery when I tried briefly. How do you feel riding 650 and 725 with 115+/255 for >20 knots of wind on your exocet 91 board?

I really love the Rf 91 (2021, V.2 model). It gets flying easily, v. little windage on the nose, but we have lots of rocky launches and it is a !^#%$!# PITA to carry around and launch because of the width. I will use it mostly for late season when winds are light and I am considering getting the P7 F1 9.0 for less than 15 knots.

I have the SB foil that started using it with a formula board but few months ago I got a Roberts Flight GT (76 cm). For the type of sailing I do, that is, freeride/freerace, I don't really miss the wider board. Plus, it seems that at 20 knots and over, racers opt for a narrower board.
One thing I am seriously considering is the 105 fuse.

One thing I am seriously considering is the 105 fuse.

The RF 91 would have been easier to control because with the extra width I can spill power upwind and downwind better. My Roberts Flight GT is a touch wider than yours at 77.5 CM, I had Rob make me a replica of his board as he is a big guy and sails big sails. Super happy w/ the Roberts and for all-around free ride/freerace its my go to for 15 -25 knots, and its soooo much easier to handle into and out of the water.

I pulled the trigger on the 9.0 F1 P7 2021 esp since it was on sale. We have a lot of 10-15 knot days in the late season and I think it will excel in those conditions. Def will use the 9.0 on the RF 91, should be a great match.

I think the 105+ fuse is a great addition for most rec sailors. It allows you to sail across the wind in more comfort.

I bought the 105 plus fuse. I hope to be able to use it soon.

i would expect to see higher-aspect faster wings for PWA foil slalom competition.

even with the improved hydrodynamics of the Evolution fuselages, the 725/650/550 wings were down in speed to comparable F4 wing sizes last year in my tests (and those of others).

probably a shorter fuse (if you don't already have one) should be your initial consideration.

the 800 wing can take a lot of wind in the 105/95 fuselages. also, the 725 and 650 wings work much better on the 105 and 95 fuses than they do on the 115.

I just receive and test for the first time the new Starboard SLR Wings. Before I test the new EVO 650 and 575. When I change to EVO, the feeling is the same of older wing, but with less drag feeling. The new 725 EVO I feel like the older 800, same lift or more, but less drag. I made more sessions with 575 than 650, and for my me(love foil slalom and top Speed), the 575 is amazing with high wind. In fact with this wing I increase my personal best average and top speed(I don't have never flat water, always with choppy, more difficult to go fast), and I sail in conditions I never sailed before.
But compared with SLR, this wings are not an evolution of older wings, are a completely diferent concept. At first look, it looks like a Phantom or F4 wing. But the difference is you can sail with less wind with the less wing. I spoke with a professional, and he said the 560 SLR is the wing for a 8-9 meters, and the smaller wings are for less sail. I just made a first test with 560-105-210 with 9-11 knots and 0 degrees on stab. My friends sail with me with F4 (720 wing) and Phantom (720 wing). And the lift are similar with my friend(the f4 less lift, and Phantom similar lift). In cross the wind, I was little faster of f4, and similar speed of Phantom. And downwind one knot faster. When the wind went up to 13 knots I need to decrease the lift to -1 on stab, and it was better control. I thing the correct for me is -0.5. For the wind there was that day, I never sailed with this lift, and I never sail with this speed. A let few pictures of these wings. I hope it will be faster than EVO.

I was very frustrated after two years with very small progress, but after I change to EVO and SLR is very motivating finally progress. The last day I test with more wind but more waves the two SLR wings, and I was slower than less wind and less waves(1 knot less). At the end, the problem we have in our spot is the choppy. I think for me would be very difficult to arrive to 30 knots if I can find flat water... or I need to be a pro!! Andy Laufer one day he sailed in our spot, and he arrives to 30 knots!! In this moment, if I can break an average top speeds of 27 knots will be a big challenger. An small vid of the last day, looking for a place between the waves to push:

What is chord length at root of the SB 650 and 725?
My SB 800 and 900 both have 12.5cm chord, wondering if the smaller wings have a shorter chord, but from looking at the trailing edge relative to the mounting holes in the pics the chord looks similar to the 800 ?
Have also tried calculating the surface area of my foils based on measured dimensions and don't get the same figure as printed on the foil.
Am in the process of making a custom foil so am curious where there might be potential performance gains.

Saw the video. Impressive stuff - and nice nailing the jibe at the end on the small wing.

First test today of the 650cm wing I made from material lying around the shed - Red Cedar/Carbon/Basalt Fibre/Epoxy (vac bagged)
Wind was offshore 7-15kn
Setup was 650 wing/115+fuse/255 (-1 shim) tail
Fanatic 91cm board with 7.5 demon race sail
Needed higher speed to take off (~10kn SOG) compared to my 900/800 wings (~7kn SOG).
Flight was stable but stall speed was higher and not as forgiving as the production 800/900 foils which is probably a result of the shorter chord and max camber further aft.
Needs better surface finishing as it was whistling a bit at speed (Had only quick wet and dry after filler coat done yesterday).
Requires a bit more tuning as top speed was just under 20kns SOG so still a long way from target speed.
Not sure if it will be my Wing of Destiny or Wing of Doom

I like many people are a Starboard foil owner, I'm right into slalom fin racing and also foiling too.
Obviously Phantom/F4/Z-foils seem to be the highest performance at the moment if you want to go super fast windfoiling.
I'm real curious of the performance of the Starboard SLR wings/tails that will be soon released in Aus, Nz.
*none of us want the financial hassle of changing brands!
Found a detailed review on the Facebook page "Windfoilen Nederland" of the 560 and 460slr (but no GPS speeds or other brands comparison yet...)

As a market leader without question the slr wings will be every bit as good as the other brands you mentioned
Depending what Starboard gear you already have you may still need to purchase the EVO fuse to attach the new wings and also if you want to go with a mast equal to the other brands you mentioned you will also be in the market for starboard C600 Mast
Be interested to hear how much your upgrade costs compared to buying all new

At the moment I have the classic 800 / 115cm black / 255 combo, and also the 650 / 105+ / 255 thin.

The 650 is pretty quick in 20 knots of breeze with a 6.4 - 7m sail... *I didn't check with a GPS but I think a medium slalom fin combo is a little quicker in the same conditions eg: 7.8m and 114l board.

I am looking forward to trying the SLR range soon for more speed (will need to buy the Evo105 fuse too)
Will post the results on here when it happens.

I have had time to test the new SLR 560 and 460 front wing. In my spot in summer the top wind is 16-17 knots in gusts, and I sail all the time with Loftsail Skyblade 8.0 sail because the wind is not enough to push the l?mits with smaller sails in downwind.

The 560 is a really allround conditions wing, with a reasonable good perform in light wind and upwind. I use this wing (560-105-210) when the conditions are light (from 8 knots to 13 knots) because it have a great lift make possible a good performance and machine of creating aparent wind. In 10-11 knots I was sailing with a young lighter sailer with IQ foil (900-115-255, and 9 meters sail) and in a normal upwind, I can keep his speed. In cross the wind I'm faster, and in downwind if is not very close to rear wind a little bit faster; not upwind-downwind race(obviously the IQ foil is more efficient). With 10-11 knots I can go to 22-23 knots. When I sail with a friend with f4 slalom foil (720 cm2 front wing) same sail, if the wind is lighter (10-12 knots) we sail at exactly same speed in all directions. If wind is little higher I'm faster. The 575 evo is a very different wing, faster than 560 in high wind but without the low range wind of the 560. The 560 is the big wing for lightwind for 8 and 9 sails. My top speed with this wing is about 25.5 knots, but always change to 460 when the wind is higher than 14 knots, because I love the feeling of the 460.

The 460 wing is a beast. It runs good from 14 knots, but from 16 knots and higher it feels in his conditions. Is usual to arrive more than 27 knots, and I I have overcome my challenge of an average of more than 27 knots in my spot. Less accesible for beginners, nervious and reactive needs wind to go upwind, but in cross the wind and downwind there's no limits. I have a pro who has test the 390 front wing and 175 rear wing, and is only possible to run in a flat water. In his best conditions arrive to 33 knots and a average of 31 knots, but more difficult, with a little chop conditions in Tarifa.


For Autumn I hope arrive to 28 knots, if I find good enough conditions and I can sail with 7.0 Skyblade or 5.9 speedblade. My personal challenger is arrive to 30 knots, I hope one day I can arrive.

Wow!! Very good speed! And with the older mast!

A week ago I test my 460-105-210 with 6.0 Loftsails Skyblade, not the best conditions because is a gusty, but good enough to push a place without big choppy. I feel I can go with more wind, but the average speed is not bad. The 30 knots are closer. I hope the 2023 will be the year!!
