"Fashionable" is the key word.
The best local winger started out on a 6ft10 board with 115 l. She progressed very quickly. When she switched to a 5ft4 board after 30-40 sessions, the thing she liked
most about it was the handle on the bottom, which makes getting in and out much easier. She says pumping is a bit better on the small board, and that it
may turn a bit better. Getting on is a tad harder for the first few sessions, but otherwise, the difference is surprisingly small. That said, the board is around 80 l and probably has about 20 l excess volume for her, so it' not really small.
