first time commenter, long time reader...

was looking at one of those needs to replace my old weathered e-bomb but they were out of stock, took a punt on one of the voltes ($175 on sale at star) pretty happy so far... good fit, no leaks yet, pretty stretchy, will have to wait and see... rather spend the price difference on a new board!

Bargain @ $175!!

I think my Need wettie is the best I've had so far, its very comfy and super warm.

Those Volte suits seem pretty decent, though i'm not a fan of liquid taped seams.

Anyone got any feedback on the Vissla suits?

Yep I'm over liquid taped seams as well, the oneill ones crack

The need suits look as if they have used a different system.

pretty happy chappy, see how the seams go, im keen on trying a NEED when the time for a new wetty arises again, bought one of their long sleeve tops for summer and am quite a fan, cant really beat all black, no logos and a cheap price really!

I've had a need for 2 -3 years now and while they are good value for money and perfect for a second sesh wettie there is no way they are warmer than a top shelf suit, and anyone who tells you otherwise is either kidding themselves or wearing it in the bath

I have the 5/4 with inbuilt hood. Its super warm and toasty in 11 degree water so far. Stretch wise its got nothing on a top line wettie. But still super comfy. Its also half the price of them. I wish I had spent the extra cashola to be honest. Still might. They are very heavy. From all reports from friends of mine back in NZ the lighter suits - their 3/2 and 4/3's are fantastic. But I think the 5/4 still needs some work. Others I have spoken to are happy with their 5/4's - maybe I am just fussy after not using a wettie much the last few years. Anyway it gets you in the water and keeps you warm which what it was designed to do.

Sorry for the blatant plug but a genuine good deal. Soul Boardstore have all the latest Patagoinia wetsuits reduced by 20%. R1, R2, regular or Yulex, front or back zip. Just whats in stock. Cheers, Ross
