I didn't make the meeting but from what i can tell.

The council closed it on a 28 day safety claus. In that time i think they had intentions of closing it for good at last nights meeting. In a vote it went un unanimous so now it has to go to a special meeting in two weeks, the voting members have investigated/educated themselves. The issue is the track must be re opened again in 16 days so they have not left themselves much time to fix it.

Talk is that they will let the road stay but still block access to the actual beach. The meeting was standing room only bulging outside mostly with 4wd owners.

Maybe surfers like the idea of having to walk in, to save on crowds I'm not sure, just passing on what i understand..

Just thinking about it, that one dangerous entry off the main road, with loose gravel everywhere.....

That blind first left turn, on a slight slant, that got to be head on material......

The crest of a hill before the ocean is also head on material......

The car park, full of thriving little bogans interbreeding....

I swear I seen some engendered species like the Tawny crowned honey eater eating out of an old EMU export can. (Why are there no bins there)

I think we can get this track closed, its only a matter of time.

(I'm sure this is how the greens work)

Id support the clearing of the sides. Especially the dead tree on the way out on the high side of the first hill

Wow, thats a turn around. I think its good news, but from the impression i got i think the surfers in general were happy to have it closed. It seemed to be driven more by the 4wd users..

Read between the lines. They have made the track wider and smoother so they can get heavy equipment into the building site to clear it.

They didnt do that so we can surf
