Is the beach not closed Ctn? Tomorow was the day I'd zone in for a surf after a stressful month not in the water. Drats! Whats the radius for that thing guys? Can we still paddle out? I have a really bad surf itch that cannot be quelled and inability to get out of town!

News says Trigg to Brighton closed for a few more days. The Whale is still on the beach. Ill bet the stink is getting nasty..

Looks like the whole of Perth decided to drive an hour south!

Packed an hr north as well

Sorry i was thinking more Cott or Mullaloo way.. But further a field couldn't have hurt either

Yeah i completely agree. Why they didn't anchor it up well offshore, let the sharks clean it up, Fisheries could have tagged as many as possible and not waisted $100000 that they estimated it would cost. TBH i still think they'll have to re think there ideas as it is bloody huge..

I read a report yesterday that showed a estimated 5 to 7 mtr whale of Ningaloo that took 3 to 4 days to strip to the skeleton..

i remember someone posted a good vid from up ningaloo way a couple of years ago i think of a big whale stuck on a reef shelf in a couple of metres of water as the tide had gone out - just getting devoured by a shark feeding frenzy
i don't think it took more than a turn of the tide to strip it...nature be crazy

tried to find for those interested, but this was the closest i found - by day 3 it is only a skeleton according to the vid.

The issue is the guy will fall in, get chomped and then everyone will call for the shark to be culled

The boat is a Niad...

The same people that alerted the incident in the first place. The media chopper. You can see in one video he jumps of a boat and swims over whilst his mates are screaming, and in another video you can see him on the whale and a blue rib sitting just of floating with no one on board..

I will be able to find out eventually as the boat that picked him up It had a 4 sale sign on the bow) belongs to a customer of a friend of mine.. But either way was just curious more than anything..

Either way the stinky whale is now sitting at a tip about 4 kms from my house and it stinks to high heaven. As i drove past on my way to work, the poor workers were out with hoses and brushes scrubbing the drive way. I'm guessing the smell must run from Scarbs all the way to Mindarie..

Answered my own question. The unattended boat was a tender to the bigger boat. Being towed and from other shots you simply can't see the rope as it sinks..

According to some there are no sharks out there as we have taken there food source. We have just done it again. Nice natural burley trail to set up an Eco system, but wait it stinks and is 4 km from my house so thats ok.

just saying.

I think the after shot of what the dude on top of the whale did once it washed up on the beach is more disturbing
Only in Wa do they REALLY love marine creatures
