The issue is the guy will fall in, get chomped and then everyone will call for the shark to be culled

The boat is a Niad...

Fisheries tried but didn't manage to tag any of the sharks.

BUT for the life of me, it makes no sense NOT to tow this out to the middle of nowhere and anchor it up. Feed all the local sharks, the ones travelling through and not too mention saves on the clean up for the local council that has to deal with it. It looks like Scarbs is about to have a new attraction. Lets pray they don't bury it south of Brighton beach.. But it is a big carcass..

Cutting it up and using it as bait on drumlines is clearly the correct course of action

Totally agree with the last 2 comments, either would be appropriate with the 2nd my preference. I'm not surprised they havn't simply towed the bloody thing out to sea, probably some retarded red tape in handling the sacred whale carcass. Gotta get 7 sacred signatures upon 7 days signed before anyone makes a call to people who actually work for a living. So any moves made are safely way too late.....

There is an agreement in place that they won't tow it out. If they could they would, and make it someone else's problem.

It reminds me about the old days on Mainly beach. The drains used to pollute the bay so much after heavy rains. One trip over i was told they had fixed the problem. They simply extended the drain pipe further out to sea, making the pollution Cronulla's issue

They managed to tag one GW yesterday though..

Is the beach not closed Ctn? Tomorow was the day I'd zone in for a surf after a stressful month not in the water. Drats! Whats the radius for that thing guys? Can we still paddle out? I have a really bad surf itch that cannot be quelled and inability to get out of town!

Hey Karlo,
thanks for posting the vid. I was explaining to the missus just this morning about a botched whale explosion that I saw a few years ago... lumps of whale landing on cars... classic movie scene, should be in the other thread...
