Finally worked out where those rights were Thommo. Never even crossed my mind that that joint would do that. INSANE.

The 'SUPER' Bank when it was really 'SUPER'. Note the crowd. Not much.

1st swell that ever broke on it after the bays filled with sand. This is before the quik pro and mags publicised it and it blew out with tourists etc. It was a local fest! Guys were honestly getting that many waves they were giving them away. That doesnt happen here often!

This swell was quite possibly the most epic waves ever on the Gold Coast. There is a great section on one of Justin Ganes old movies that shows you it. Guys getting 25 second barrels! Pics are a quick scan from Snapper down over Greeny.

Didnt look like that when I was there so much sand!!

I lived close by at that stage and that swell lasted for 5 or 6 days and surfed it early and late every day. It was ridiculous. The pics don't show the Cooly Beach section which after the barrel shot was the best part of the wave.

I wasn't getting barreled for 25 seconds like the obvious crew but catching 3 waves in a session and being completely exhausted and satisfied was a pretty good feeling.
