Sad day indeed,,,we all wish the comment above wouldn't eventuate but yet again, it has.
I wish as much as, if not more than anyone that it wouldn't eventuate but unfortunately all you have to do is look at the increasing frequency of sightings, attacks and close calls to realise it unfortunately has become inevidable.
It's a sad day when you start to doubt whether it's worth going for a surf or going for a dive to get some crays.
I remember a few years ago now the thought of a shark while in the water was only a flicker that would go through my mind if i saw a dark shape or brushed up against something. Now i find myself scanning the water and being on edge for a good percentage of the time i'm in or about to go into the ocean.
And as for the statistics of other risks/outcomes compared to attacks...
I think if you are currently living and an ocean goer in WA, those statistics can suck a fat one...
