Thanks BB, I may take you up on the offer.

My main problem would be the nights I go out, I just would not feel happy about leaving it in the tent.

Years ago you could walk away from anything up at woopi and know that it would still be there when you came back but times change.

The locals will alwys tell you it's just the "blow'ins" that cause the problems, but quite frankly, it's the same every place you go now days.

Water must be nice, can't see a steamer anywhere.

Yes Mac, that would be the Mullawara beachy, it's just a fraction south of Arrawarra and a fraction north of Mullaway.

That would be the car park at the end of beach road on this map.

Last week the same beach was waist to shoulder high and glassy all week and the maximum crowd was three. I surf down there quite a bit but haven't done the comp since about 2006 due to the body falling apart. Theres heaps of opportunity to freesurf as well while the comp is on and the beach has a few different options to suit different conditions. Ironically I surf this beach probably more than any other in Australia and I have never done well in the comp' - never, have always had a blast though and am very happy to be fit enough to be having another go.
Spoke to one of the guys running the show the other night and they are expecting about a hundred entries across all divisions which is just a nice size comp. For those considering going for the first time do yourself a favour and try to get down on the Thursday if possible and come for a freesurf on the friday and get a bit of a feel for the place.
Another thing - bring the biggest board you own plus your everyday mal if you have more than one. Arrawarra is suitable for the biggest mal you own, no matter how big it is. Some of us peasants only have the one so will have to make do.
