Ted, love watching this stuff, but I wish the media would shut the feck up about who is going to get a medal..... they put so much out there for these younguns to build up the pressure and when it all goes average, like Torah did last night, they just leave off and go to the next event. When in fact our Torah is really an amazing competitor that absolutely loves her sport and is proud to represent our country, doing her very best at what she does. When she doesn't get a medal the media just go... "Oh well, NEXT!" Then ask her what went wrong? Nothing went wrong, the other girls were just great on the day.....
That Czech girl was amazing, but I think she was knocked unconscious, hence her rag doll form as she slid down the hill, which probably saved a few broken limbs.
Here's hoping they all have a great time and enjoy the friendship and fun at the games, if we get some medals, then that's fantastic.
For me, I turn the sound down so I don't have to listen to the inane drivel that comes out of these commentator's mouths.
Men's downhill was amazing, 137kmh on two bits of carbon......
Men's 30km cross country..... average of 24km per hour, with up hills as well! Heart rate at over 160 all the way for over an hour. That's something.
Mmmmmm might have to have a winter holiday this year......
