Gotta tell ya mac - at the moment I am ripping mate, some of the best sup surfing never seen in this state

Will get some piccies on the weekend - it's absolutely stunning down the surf coast - amazing seascapes and deserted beaches/dunes/waterways to explore. I paddled down at a place called Dodges Ferry today and it was a really nice change being out on such a pristine waterway with no supolution everywhere - in the hour and a half I was out paddling I saw 2 little tinnies out fishing and that was it, and it was a beautiful sunny day (really sunny - shorts n tee only)

Get used to it Bill , have had locals tell me I shouldn't be in the water when no one else is around . Trouble here that would mean I never got to get in the water ,especially in the winter

Got a couple of 1-1.5 footers today on the old Mal off midpoint . might have to venture down your way if the disapointing surf here continues

TassieD - mate more than happy out on my own if its small but shlt happens all too easy on a sup when the surf has some bite in it so Im happy to hit the flatwater when Im a bit iffy about a solo surf.

Hey Pup - yep, all good mate - got some wonderful new things happening in my life and just lucky that tassie is home for me, so its all kinda falling into place for a change.

Mac - gunna get a mal cos I'll happily venture out on a mal in surf that may intimidate me on the sup. Really nice big and fat and cold mal waves everywhere.

I wasn't killing it Mac .had to get in pretty close to get a wave so I was too busy dodging rocks. Bit of a tightarse hate breaking fins or dinging boards

But your right have seen others having great fun on big longboards and SUPs on the small waves . At leat on the LB I get to get out and have a go .

Had my first surf with the breeze crew today (spencer, riverider)
Kinda surreal paddling into my first wave and hearing "go BB"
Beautiful clean and glassy 2ft and a big crew out, but nice vibe in the water and a really stunning spot.
Thanks for the very warm welcome guys.

Went out today for an hour and a half in the surf . After that got out with completely numb toes with booties on . How did you manage to stay out with no booties on . Young girl next to me had no gloves on and her hands were literally blue .

Yeah mate I got a wake up call when I went into town and there was a bigarst ice breaker "aurora australis" tied up at the wharf. Im buggered if I'd go to antarctica on it - it musta been more seaworthy than it looked I suppose !

I suppose they take it for granted here but I dont see a lot of huge fluoro orange ice breakers on the goldy.

hey bill

got news for you, its going to get alot colder yet, you will need at least a 4/3 or a 5/3, and a vest with hood attached to stop the icecream headaches, the local surfshop in hobart has a deal on where the will match any deal you can find on the internet, looks like the have a new customer.
