Seriously though I am annoyed - as finally had some time to watch some cricket at the Steyne and they are off. Ahhhh now the a league is on instead. Rather watch us getting battered to be honest

The crying shame about all of this Pup is that touring teams in cricket across the world never play any real first class matches anymore in preparation. Whether they want to or are not allowed I do not know. But traditionally (well for the last 100 years or so) they always played a few matches to get into the stride of things and adjust to conditions but these days do not. Without Southee we would always struggle but it seems there is no real life prep anymore. One only has to watch your team in England to know that is also the case. A shame that other forms of the game and a desire to pack more into a season (forcing shorter tours) are damaging the long form of the game so much. I hope we can at least be competitive next match after we draw this one sorry I have been drinking dreaming again
