G'day
Well finally got the stick I've been waiting ages for just before coming back out to work. At 6'5" its by no means a longboard but from the little experiences I've had with it so far id say its a great short board for a longboarder looking for something they can throw around and pull out on those super hollow days that may be a little round for the longboard. I got this specifically for that purpose, Overhead kegs but unfortunately haven't got to ride it on a hollow day yet. When i do ill be right on here sharing my thoughts but until then ill share what I've found so far. I've been looking at something eggy for a while and to cut a super long story short ended up focusing on getting this thing.
What did i want? - So as mentioned, (whilst it doesn't look like it) i got this thing for hollow waves, over head height. I ride the 9'5" Involvement in good mal riding waves up to shoulder height a 7'10"Involvement/Lynch style mid-length in anything over that until i get into the big wave gun style of boards either a 6'10"single fin or 7'0" Quad and 7'2" Thruster for your good quality Indo/ Up North WA style waves (Head and a half to double over head). This board was to replace my 6'6" JS Kingpin which is the short board i would pull out for epic quality 4-6' surf (Over head to Head and a half). The JS whilst it was definitely one of the best boards I've ever had literally but it was getting a little tired and i was finding was feeling a little bit like trying to stand on a boggie board if going from the Mal one day to a short board the next.
What is it? - Lost Ezy-up 6'5" x 22 and a smidge" x 2 11/16'ish (45L Volume) I'm 6'3" and close enough to 100kg. Lowish profile rails considering the volume full along the stringer tapering down to the rail, slight roll on the entry to a gradual vee centrally to an exaggerated Vee leading to well defined Concave in the tail. The rails in the tail are low Hard and sharp. Quite a bit of Rocker for a board in an Eggy template with exagerated lift in the nose and tail kicks.
HOW's it go? - I have not got to surf it in good hollow waves yet

HOWEVER in the three surfs I've had on it I've managed to clock up about 9 hours on it so far 8 hours surfing quite heavy yet fullish 6' + waves and an hour surfing 4' fast crappy close outs. so the summary of how it goes as below.
* Duck Dives like a Mal - Not a great thing but to be expected given the template and volume.
* Paddles EASY and well , not quite like a mal but i reckon it paddles easier and quicker than my Mid length. Its a great paddler.
* Bloody Fast - Only ridden it as a Quad so far and the speed is ridiculous, this is a quick board considering its far from flat in the rocker profile.
* If you dont surf it on the rail it feel's really loose and skatey, with a heap of Pivot feeling localised to the tail extremities if that makes sense? I reckon that would be highlighted even more as a thruster set up??
* Loves to get the rail in. This thing is made for rail surfing, so I'm expecting it to be epic in hollow pits of Joy. Great on a late take off, feels really stable underfoot, very, very drivey and really accelerates with the turn when pushing hard on the rail yet transitions quickly and smoothly to the other rail without loosing any drive. I found this really surprising but very welcome as was the boards capacity to get vertical easily and comfortably. Ridiculously stable feeling descending from re-entrys or floaters with the board seemingly correcting itself into a stable position a couple of times where i thought id loose it for sure.
All in all first impressions are great, Its really responsive with out being too loose but it doesn't feel like it looks, to me it feels like "what id expect" a Hypto Crypto of the same size to feel like ( I've only ridden one that's too small for me) , it really isn't a case of "what you see is what you get" its really surprising to date. Really looking forward to getting it into something hollow next time home, so will report further then with better photos.
