Harsh SP......but fair To be honest I am gutted they did not make the GF - would prefer it was them than the storm.

A good w/e ahead with 2 Sydney / Melb games on.

Yeah would have been good to see them win it.

No plans this year, first one in 10 plu years I haven't gone to, bit lost as what I'll do but sure to involve a long a day of drinking...

Did I mention Go Tigers....

Yeah, that's right in the end the two best teams got there.
If you weren't good enough, then the tigers were a discombobulated rabble....( word of the day)

I reckon Melbourne will win it. And the Hawks to fly high in the AFL.
Both trophies to Melbourne... First time since 05 both trophies will be in the same state? Can you name the teams?.

AJ the new immortal - discuss?

Ummmm I thought that a few more of the old guys should get in first. He would eventually make my list though quality player off the field as well

Stoked for him at the end of the day,as a Queenslander boy I/we hated him only because he was always playing for the other side, one of the best footy players I've seen in my time. After his off field dramas its even better in my book, champion player who loved a good time and what's so wrong with that.To a point.

Ted I agree maybe an elder statesmen but at least now the demon is off his back.

They should just call it blokes from Newcastle..... . Think that is number 3.

Best footballer I have seen, decided on football ability, good decision.

sorry i don't buy it - here you go kiddies- a drug taking immortal.

wonder what the immortal crew think of that decision. you can't have it all. great player yes, someone for the kiddies to look up too- no

imo its got to be the whole package- on and of the field

100% agree lacey...johns has said, without his dico biscuit ways, that the pressure would be to much for him to play....he is one of the best footballers i will ever see,but the fact remains that drug cheats should not be made a imortal..

Look he was an incredible player no doubt about it. The criteria for selection is based on your performance on the footy field as a player only - not drugs or coaching - so its hard to not argue with the decision. I just think that seen the list is still playing catch up why not put a few more of the older fellas in first.

yes ted...but johns has said that he would not have been able to play without the eccies. so he was not taking performance enhancing drugs as per se ...yet his recreational drugs are what allowed him to take to the field, so his off the field allowed him to do good on field...the knights and the nrl did well for so long with that cover up.

I tend to agree fellas....but the rules are rules. Speaking of which Quade Cooper appears to be breaking a few simple team rules himself of late. His comments last night are silly. Personally I think he should go to league - he can not tackle and would get slaughtered. I would love to see the big men run at him all day long and see how he copped. I think he has too high an opinion of himself. He is a great player at Super Rugby level but on the big stage he is just ordinary - maybe even worse. He should pull his head in. He is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. He has a history of poor performances at the highest level.

WALLABIES five-eighth Quade Cooper says the national team is ''destroying'' him, and that he would not play for Australia if he were picked in the team today.
In an extraordinary few moments live on pay-television last night, the injured playmaker said he stood by his comments last week that the Wallabies environment was ''toxic''.
''I'm just striving to be the best that I can be, and that's why I said I didn't want to be involved in that kind of environment,'' Cooper told Fox Sports' The Rugby Club.
''For me to continue to improve as a player and as a person you want to be in the best possible environment, and I feel that that environment is destroying me as a person and as a player, so that I can't do the best that I can do to represent my country and my family and my friends, to the best of my ability.''

When asked if he would play for the Wallabies if he were picked in the side this weekend, Cooper said he would not.
''No, like I said, it's the environment there at the moment is one that I don't feel comfortable in, and if I don't feel comfortable and if I don't feel that I can give 100 per cent for my country and that yellow jersey, that's a very big problem,'' he said.

Agree Ted ,let's face it Deans isn't the one missing the tackles and throwing wild passes , time to harden up cup cake and face the fact you aren't as good as you think you are

What NRL team would want him as he is anyway all attitude and can't tackle

On the Johns thing IMO taking drugs to calm your nerves between games is taking performance enhancing drugs . In the racing industry behavioral modifying drugs / sedatives are banned and are swabbed for . If it is considered to be performance enhancing in race horses what's the diff with athletes .

Good luck to him though he got away with it

yes thats why my words have tempered I believe Robbie Page might have done the wrong thing once many moons ago and the infamous AI not too mention the other 100 or so!! I think off-field incidents add to the colour of the spectacle!

Swans by 1-39 (due to the weather) and Bulldogs to get on top in a close one.

BBQ is also ready for action here - just brought a whole rump and we will do it brazialian style - caked in rock salt on the spit over the hot coals.....ummmm tempted to do it tonight
