Thanks for all the nice words fellas.....its been a bloody mission to say the least....so many stupid errors along the way - someone said that 100 things can go wrong glassing and normally a couple do...its all part of the learning process...well I must have found about 10 on the first one and 5 on the second so definitely moving in the right direction - I hope ....I never got to surf the green machine today - it was chunky and cross shore with morning sickness at the local so I had to go a few km down the road to a more sheltered spot and that gave me an opportunity to read the last rites to my sweet potato as I finally finished its replacement 30 mins ago ! So now I have 2 new boards at the same time - and thats a first - so thought I would christen them both tom morning. 60 mins on each to see how they compare.

Shots will be coming I promise. Had too much work to do today sadly. They will probably have wax and fins on them but them's the breaks as I want to be hitting the water 5 mins before first light tom.

CMC once said that there is a lot more work that goes into a board than you probably realise so don't ever complain about the price....its safe to say that I am now in 100% total agreement with him I know the pros can do things a 1,000 times quicker than me but they have learnt those skills over many many years so are entitled to be paid for them !! I know now that I shall never ever question the price of a board ever again CMC - but I still think that boards produced where labour cost are substantially lower should have their prices reflect that

Edit: I should have mentioned that its addictive so do not attempt unless you have the time Already started the new project !

Thanks...waves were fun for about 30 mins then the weekend warriors turned up......8 of them together - ouch. A shame as the national park has been closed all week and I was hoping not many would bother checking if the gates had opened - sadly they did The other local is still closed off and I could be bothered walking 25 mins this morning....tom is another day though !

I just got back from checking it and it's come up a couple of feet from this morning. South east wind into it at the moment but hoping for some cleaner waves tomorrow.

So, are they christened? And was the baptism by immersion a beautiful religious experience?

Cheers fellas.....one has experienced several sessions so far the other one may have to wait for next weekend as a crazy week of work sees me having to stay in Sydney for 3 nights and I do not surf when I am down there even though I stay at Dee Why Point - hate crowds ! ! ! ! ! Will happily wait till I get home on Friday around lunchtime.

Hey Daneli - had 3 marginal surfs on her this week and absolutely loving it....goes like rocket despite the conditions. A lot more high performance than the original sweet potato with the rails a lot sharper and a lot less volume though the middle makes her a lot more work to surf but very rewarding. Not had any really good waves yet though to give it a good workout. I think you would be happy with either to be honest - but I am biased as I love short fat low rockered boards.

Got a bit busy over the w/e with no swell and carved out a new one 6'9*21*2 5/8 single fin - based off a Joel Tudor Diamond Egg. Some of these photos make it look a little fat - but thats just the camera angle...she is a nice long slender shape. Its got chick colours as it is a gift for a good friend for her birthday. Its been great to play around with this one so will look at making a similar one for myself once this is complete. Just need to sand back the laps , hot coat and sand her back. Might even do a pin line this time.

Well what is a man to do when the ocean is flat Now that I have everything in place its relatively straightforward to sneak out into the garage and spend a few hours when the opportunity arises. I have a list of boards that I want to do but will have limited opportunities these next few months so need to make the lost of it now! Hows your latest one coming along?

You will have an absolute blast on whatever one you decide on...who is making it for you? I would definitely be inclined to go for more over less when it comes to volume - when its small and crap you want more than less I reckon - having that big wide asse supporting most of your weight makes those fat horrible sections when its small seem a long distant memory ! Hope yr birthday is a good one

Yeah I did some work last week...but haven't had much time due to some family commitents etc...should hopefully have it finished by late next week if I can find a few minutes...did you use UV resin on any of these?

So you were at Dee Why for three days? I saw you outside Bennett's on Friday morning, but couldn't stop, and by the time I came about, you had scarpered.....

Look us up when you're down next.

BTW, nice boards! Would love to have a go at one of 'em one day.....

yes MR I was down but it was not social - I did manage to find a few mins to race into Dion for some more chemicals I was flat out in the City for 3 days and nights straight. Did not bring a board down or even see any of my mates It was sadly just work work and more work. Next time I am down your way and staying over I will definitely try and hook up with you and OB. Although my general rule these days is I do not surf when I am in Sydney. May make an exception You and OB still have an open invitation for a north bound visit at any stage ! We can get SP down as well.
