Melbourne on the bottom as expected... I honestly think that Neild the coach has "lost" his players... They don't respect him... or at least there is something else wrong inside that club...

I thought Parramatta a couple weeks ago put in a performance of such woe I didn't think I would ever see a worse sporting team...then along came Melbourne....Jack Watts needs to be traded he was woeful to think he got picked aheda of Phil Davis, Nic Nat, Stephen Hill, Dan Rich, Jack Ziebell, Steel Sidebottom, Michael Hurley etc etc.....he's in danger of becoming the next Richard Tambling

Yes I think your right Simondo, The prematch speech was unspectactular to say the least, for a team to back up from a miserable loss first round, I would have thought there would be a fire and brimstone speech, I think he put the players to sleep, I do feel sorry for the Neeld bloke being the scapegoat of both inept management and player selections at the MFC and do believe that there are serious ructions at the Club. The "old boy" network has gotta go and make way for a business orientation that will be in the business of hunting premierships, not the losing culture that seems to prevail currently.. clean out all the effyn deadwood and get the Mighty Dee's back up the top where they belong... as for bloody those bloody beards.....
Good to see your seabreeze comp now has 27 members and growing

Ock, footy is a funny thing hey. After watching that Coach's address, I was think how The Cats players always seem to be jumping out of their skin to start a game, or even jumping around to get that last goal back after they have been scored against, etc.

Also, I remember more enthusiasm from my Under 13's footy days.

It was a silly idea to invite the media into the rooms to start off with.

After the loss the week before.. what were they thinking??

Melbourne needs to quit the 'boys club' attitude and start reshuffling and replacing the board members and management. Less attention to keeping traditions alive and more attention to playing footy and chasing wins!

As a demon fan .. its been a tough last 5-6 years watching the team you love make managerial mistake after mistake, slowing drowning the club.

OK boys and girls, we're moving into Round 3 now. Great games so far, and no shortage of great games this weekend!

Dockers v Bombers - both teams are up and flying, should be a CRACKER!
Roos v Swans - we expect Swans to win, but Roos are doing well, plus it is in Melbourne.
Demons v's Eagles - at The G (MCG), time for Melbourne to step up!!! Eagles are a little bit wounded. Great timing for Melbourne to play a quality interstate team.
GWS v Saints - in Canberra (), but a good opportunity for GWS to show us all how good you are developing.
Suns v Lions - on The Gold Coast! Go Suns! Will be a great Derby/Darby!
Cats v Blues - big game for both!
Tigers v Dogs - opportunity for both...
Pies v Hawks at The G... BIG!
Port v Crows - another great Derby/Darby!

Tips;
Dockers, just
Swans, by a bit, but after a grind
Eagles, but I think Melbourne will step it up a chunk
Saints, but GWS in the mix for a while
Gold Coast in a tight one
Cats, just
Tigers, by a little bit
Pies or Hawks... Hawks maybe, but Pies are tough to beat... either can get this - tough match!
Crows in a tight one, kicking away at the end of the 4th...

James Hird looks like he is in a whole lot of trouble this morning.....I would think his position as coach is probably untenable now. Why do people lie? It almost always comes back and bites them on the bum 5 times harder.

Mac Hirds a bit of a legend in the AFL not to mention the bombers .

Bit like some of the old bronco greats , so it would be a huge step for the bombers to sack him .

Still I would hate to he in his shoes , doesn't look good .

This article gives me some reassurance that Hird was trying to do the right thing, although there are conflicting stories flying all over the place. www.couriermail.com.au/nocookies?a=A.flavipes

I've tipped exactly the same way as Simondo this week. Tonights game should be a belter!!

So was he suntanned and up for some action when you met him Mac

Apparently one of the injections was An aphrodisiac which promoted tanning if you can believe the story's getting around

Still would hate to be in his shoes

Aside from the Bombers & Hird... (innocent until proven guilty - but Mac, your wife's comment is very interesting!)

This Weekend I'm "Rooting" for Melbourne Demons to turn their form around, and stand up and show some spirit, give 110% effort, at least for the first 2 & 1/2 quarters...

Plus, I really want The Suns to win... that would make it 4 straight at Home on the Gold Coast, I think...

Also, I hope the Tigers get another win, and they should.

Cat's at under 39.5 would also be a good bet. Can't picture a blow out here. Plus Blues have been one of only a few teams to notch up "a couple" of wins against us (Cats) over the last few years.

Here's a list of teams that haven't beaten us in ages...;
Hawks
Suns
Port
GWS
Demons
Tigers
Dogs
Saints

Roughly 1 win against us in the last while;
Lions
Crows
Bombers
Dockers
Eagles
Swans
Roos

2 wins or so over the last few seasons...
Pies (but Zero in 2011!*)
Blues

* Footnote - Pies beat "all-and-sundry" in 2011, convincingly, and often/usually by 40-100 points. Pies were "on fire". They were playing spectacular football that year. However, they lost 3 games that year... 2 Home & Away, and 1 Finals Game. Both Home & Away losses were against Geelong, and the Grand Final Loss... against Geelong!

Melbourne were half impressive today. Impressive in the first half, and not so impressive in the second half!

Next week will be a good test... GWS at the MCG, 1 o'clock on Sunday.
