Hey gents look I certainly kicked off about jet skis and towing.
me ranting doesn't help, but I have seen it over there and experienced being snaked by a ski several times at snapper n Kirra in waves which were 6 foot, yes the sweep was bad and yes it was hard work but it made it all sweeter to turn around and know you were the only one in position when a set came through, this was achieved by hard work years of surfing staying off the piss and early nights. Meanwhile johnny Utah is slipping round again to do another step off into a wave he can't paddle into.
imagine if everyone with a ski in snapper decided faark it I'm towing.
Good for the goose good for the gander 10-12 skis at snapper and cause everyone has already let it slide it's too late. One ski isn't going to end the world and I know that...
maybe im just livid as I've been on the receiving end of being singed by them, the funny thing is though that growing up on fishing boats we would drop a ski in and tow and still do now and than but it's all a couple mile offshore and where no one is around. Their are waves up and down the coast that can be pioneered and surfed by ski and know that maybe no one or a handful of other like minded crew have hit them.
there is several wave in wa maybe not heavy like the right but certainly big and certainly perfect that have a small crew of guys that surf them regularly some of which have been held by fishing families for two or three generations without being exposed and are paddled and towed.
they are the places skis belong.
Look I've already said too much ( it's a habit ask my wife)
anyhoo good read below and I apologise for kicking off I still want to come over this year to the land of the rights on my annual pilgrimage and I understand how people feel about blow ins ( I'm a local somewhere too)
recently surfed down south wa with a lad from caba and last time I was over there the locals at caba where cool too me I took my turn and waited, old mate blow in from caba was notified of this shown the entry exit point called into set waves and got given the green light.
we all travel and we have all been a local and felt the heat from them when travelling
anyway peace out rant over
