I had a crack at the fin set that comes with the evo 2 - 7 centre and gl sidies think

tried it last weekend but didn't have the waves.

however yesterday at the alley- well I actually got out the water , into my car drove home, got the thruster set, went back.

its just to slow and clumsy for me as a 2 plus one. but I didn't find that on the hotlog as a single.

am I weird

Yes you are weird but I can see where your coming from...I personally have never liked 2 + 1's...but I like thrusters and singles....does that make me weird too?

I hear you Lacey. Makes sense to me (especially for the style of surfing I think you are after).....
Can I ask please maestro...
What size are the fins? (I have an S7 box fin that I might use to "thrusterise" my 9'1 Evo II)
And how did you decide exactly where to position the centre fin in the box?
Thanks

While Lacey is taking a nanny nap

On the centre fin placement its nothing to turn around and see Lacey with just his head above the water adjusting it mid session or if he goes missing look towards the beach and you will find him making more adjustments ,he will then paddle out claiming the hero walk which is used instead of the long paddle out after a lengthy wave

s9 shaper box centre, 7's on the side. what mac said.

but for me a bit under 9 inches from the tail to the back of the fin.

mac , its more then just the fin,its placement. your 8 inches is just a guide. maybe you could shift your fin around a bit instead of just getting a new board- would be a bit cheaper for sure

happen to know the big man asea is surfing something the same

I prefer a thruster set up in my longboards or a single when im on the points. going to give my upright Clearwater 7 another go in the whalebone instead of a single this weekend.

sp could you post a pic of what you use for a screw please mate...which again makes it hard as different fins use different sized threads

I just watched that. He surfs good in some crappy waves. Not sure why he needs a 666 a sweet potato is the the perfect board for this conditions. He would have had a lot more fun
