He Lacey, you must admit, me responding to your thread has given it more views and legs than it would have otherwise.... toot toot.

How funny is it to see the team thumbers come out. Posts are going from green to red and vise versa. Personal attack much! pretty obvious.....try thumbing the info not the person...you may find that SUP goes further that way, rather than the petty crap.

LL has some great points there and some people get great results from training devices look at what the AIS and state institutes of sport do.

sure he did have a concept in his mind that had some merit for fun and maybe more. I stated my person opinion that getting on the water is the number one benefit for 99% of SUP'rs especially given how young it is....consider how long other forms of racing have been around and have evolved BEFORE electronics and mechanical training aids came into play. I still feel this way.

I think Lacey felt the thread was a negative dig at him and I guess the green thumbs for the first 2 replys didnt sit well either. Some off the cuff remarks were made, I responded in kind. He made some personal calls at me, I answered and challenged him. The whole "name names" was a joke because of the way he started to carry on about my lack of experience and top guys/girls doing this or that. To make out like it is some elitest secret is laughable, as Lacey himself said to find the info posted here on SB....which I already knew and was refering to from ( that is all I posted, nothing more), he well knew that! For him to take the jump from that and to it being a personal gripe at him all based on a bad experience I had with a custom board order in the past, that some how he feels he is affiliated with, is down right ludicris.

So if I post my opinon and it doesnt jump on board with the thread starter or the group, does that mean I am just attacking for the sake of it???

once again a sea breeze storm in a tea cup. I am on a few forums for other things. This would be the most inconsistant and precious of the lot...by a fair way.

Question?

Aren't reds limited to 5 per week for each person? so if your post is red take it as people disagree strongly, if it's green means nothing you could sit there and tap them all day if you wanted..
Thumb the post not the person really, you think people are thumbing you, i think quite the opposite, people think your posts are either ****, wrong or personal un called for and out of line, I don't know you so how could I thumb the person...

And now it just looks like you doing backflips quicker then a gymnast on the gas...
Don't take this as a personal attack Husq but your argument has some huge holes and I guess that is why it looked personal.

Anyway I actually thought about the mad professsors idea last night, hope you dont mind the title Lacey. i was suffering from a bit of insomnia but i came to the conclusion that this is a GREAT idea and the basis could be used for any paddling type sports be it flat water ocean or whatever, wouldn't it just mean a change is the paddling position and computer program that controls movement, you could have a rowing machine like for surfski, etc and you could even have a prone attachment or OC, beats lifting weights, running or riding and exercise bike and if it works I have never seen anything that can get you paddling surf fit at home. I'm sure there was a prone paddling machine in the 90's, was pretty simple a sliding table and some resistance bands with pulleys.

be great standing in the gym with the virtual reality goggles on doing a simulated DW whilst watching the girls pump iron
And sure it would cost massive $$$$ to develop a machine but so would a wave pool...

There's another idea a water tank / wave pool that could adjust current and swell you could also have it to adjust winds etc to SIMULATE different ocean conditions.. Wanna share the patent Lacey .. I'll call Kelly you call Webber see if we can piggyback on either of there's na we'll try and get on that Dragons Den tv show.

with all the paddling machines and contraptions around it got me thinking about a

sup paddling simulator- a paddling machine with sensors on the platform and the body and a big screen in front.

pick your board lenght- 12'6, 14' and open and maybe even brand.

pick a dw run anywhere in the world- maliko, molokai, that sa run, port phillip bay, all the tweed and gold coast runs etc. choose wind, swell, tide etc conditions.

setup so you actually have to catch the runs and if you over balance or get it wrong you 'fall off' via the sensors.

so say you do a snapper alley run. it would have all the usual good parts and the 'dead' spots. and you still have to surf in at the alley at say 4 ft. you could have the entire excel race right up to the boat shed

training programs for say molokai- real and simulated. dial in a race date for predicted tides and currents.

see how you are going against conner in training seeing as they paid him a bucket load of money to gps track his winning time.

technique efficiency system ie flow ratings, body stress points, heart rate, lactate readings and threshold etc

and so on

Why not just try out a different fin set up?

As far as thumbing goes, you only get one red and green vote per post. Yes you can click on it again and it will say thank you for your vote, but it only registers the one....not hard to figure that out. As far as thumbing the person, well my first reply had as many green thumbs as the post above it, now that has changed....why the info hasn't, the post below my first post says the same as me, and it hasn't changed since the beginning. Only mine. If a person is observant, it is not hard to tell what is happening in that area.

Changing or back flipping where? I have not changed my view point at all. Go back and read the whole thread. All my posts where responses. Lacey even says it is fun to stir me so to speak....he poked and I replied.

Lacey, stop posting vids and take it up with the man as you say. You know me and can get in contact with me....I won't bite.

Go team America **** yeah

Glad we agree on Team America, puppets have never been so funny..

Back flip, I meant you're top post here, seemed out of context.

& I reckon no one even thought of thumbing till you brought it up in your post as proof of your point, just seemed odd as people who reply in the negative are less likely to thumb I assume cause they use there words.

Anyway.

Becoming a bit like

there are more thumbs than replys, easy to see that. but that is common in the SUP forum. If you read in the LB forum for example, alot less thumbing either way....Id personly like to see both green and red removed. That would change things a bit.

You and Weiry posted your opinions in a civil way, you got the same in return...

Husq, when are you going to get it that a lot of people are a little over your consistent negative attitude on this forum? I don't remember if I have ever seen you post anything on this forum - yet you are always so quick to shoot people down when they put themselves out there when they want to make a contribution.

Lacey has been posting on this SUP forum almost since it started. He has a lot of ideas and has made a great contribution to the development of this sport in Australia over the years. His ideas are often quirky and left of centre but they are always interesting and thought provoking.

Now let's put this all behind us and move on....

Mike I'm sure there are a few that don't like what I say, not everyone is going to agree with me, that's both fine and life. Whilst I haven't started many threads, lack of photos and not competing bring a couple of reasons, I thought I was still allowed to comment. Unbelievable as it may seem I have been supportive to ideas and posts.....maybe those ones are hidden in a secret spot. Atleast you know where I stand, both online and in reality
