New foil board! Yeha! Well padded, odd looking foil, tiny board and cheep, cheep , cheep!

Got my new foil board delivered yesterday. Only had a chance to take it for a quick paddle in the lake to test the stability of it.

The dims are 6"10 x 26 @ 100L, It floats me pretty well as in 80kgs and seems to be as stable as my 7'7 x 28. Fingers crossed I get it out this weekend.

I have seen the Takuma team test them in Hossegor last week (they were unpacking them on the sidewalk). Definitively nice looking boards "in the flesh". Conditions were not very good for foiling though (huge chop and backwash due to mega-rips) as they arrived too late for the proper tide at the spot, did not see a lot of airtime on them, but they did not seem to have stability issues when paddling even with the heavy tri-plane hull.

I hose-sleeved a 7'4" to bolt through with support plates. Got Slingshot H4 a week ago.
The board was on the chuck out list due to excess weight from multiple mast track rip outs, and other major repairs along the way.
I am 100kgs dry, and can't believe how easily I (and board) get lifted above the water on tiny, crappy waves

Hey Colas

I am actually quite surprised with how stable the 26" wide board is. We has pretty average conditions on my first day on it but the waves I got on it felt pretty awesome. Just need a few more good days on it.

How big are the foils getting , see in this first pic yt04 that is your SS H4 in the background blue black . Josh from Slingshot called around to my house yesterday and showed me two more monsters that dwarfed the H4 . Then James Casey rocks up to SurfFX with the new Go Foil Maliko 280. It is massive he has been downwinding in 6 to 8 knots of breeze on it. That's it in the front on the first pic as well.

I built myself a new setup.You don't need to spend big bucks to get wings!probably under $100 in these. I knocked these large wings up in just a few days and they perform amazing. Allso got a new board which has made a big difference. I was starting to lose my mojo but this got it back! Soon as we get the wind direction it's dw time!

That's crazy big, going to have to be very careful with hitting it with the paddle. I take it in 6knots there on a Sup?

I can see geting the right foil matched to the conditions and location even harder than a surf or dw board so haveing this choice of shape and sizes is great

About the slingshots I'd recommend this new video about their range of foils by a kite shop: Quite interesting on how foils work generally without the bovine excrements that litter a lot of these topics on the web nowadays.

Holy crap Piros, they are huge. I was surprised how big the h4 was. Hopefully pick up my board on Friday and behind my boat on sat to give it a spin. Can't wait.

Nice to see some of those big wings. I hope they make production. At 107kg I worry that a lot of what they are calling 'beginner' foils would really be advanced for me if I wanted to start learning.

Ready to go Piros!! Just have to match up a day off with some mates for a boat session!!
Probably not the best photo for it, but what do you reckon regarding the trim? Do you think it might still need to be wedged forward a bit more or just leave it?

Yeah still looks like it's laying back a bit. Wedge it or pack with nuts for now like my pic below .Even one degree back makes the foil dig like a shovel when you paddle . Better to go too much forward to be sure no negative affect.

This is my new camera set up I made out of an old paddle shaft . I put in a FCS box in the tail and mounted a old fin and fixed on the offset shaft for my Garmin Virb 360 cam . Should produce some epic vision of multiple foilers on the same wave. I also fitted an internal safety line from the cam mount to the leg rope plug if it breaks.

Colas:- I tried a full front strap didn't like it , then put on the hook strap . It was OK as a locator but that was it. I've taken it off now and have nothing much better. Now I'm riding bigger sucky waves I'm actually shifting my front especially when you lay it over on cut backs and fighting a big offshore breeze.

Robert nice looking Foil is that the one you have been working on.

Yes Prios, we have been working on and testing this foil for a while now and I just received the first sample out of the mold.
I like that camera mount you built out of what looks like a fcs fin and carbon paddle shaft, are you getting some good footage with it?

In retrospect (everything is obvious in retrospect...), if big twin fins can destroy FCS boxes, that's not surprising that the huge leverage on a single box wasn't going to last.

Cool angle with the super wide angle camera, it's trippy how you can see both sides of the wave but can't tell if you are going left or right. Yes, in retrospect that mount has a lot of leverage on those little fcs plugs, maybe make it into a tripod setup?

Got these great new Railblaza mounts , patched up the deck and stuck these bad boys on fore and aft just perfect .Great system .

Well I finally got out and gave the foil a crack for the first time. Took up Piros' advice and had a session behind my boat dodging the bull sharks in the pine river. Like you have all said foot placement is crucial and I hope I've got a good idea where now to start. Got bucked off a few times too.
Next session out in the waves.

The tuttleboy at the rear and footstrap inserts and it would be the perfect crossover windfoil board ;-)
