I'm just dreaming of sailing around and in my 50s probably a bit late to jump in but found this forum after seeing this boat for sale and googling to find out about it and finding your post Romona. So thanks for leading me here.

You might be one of the younger members here! Apparently the deck is teak too, not beech as I mentioned previously. Still needs work though. None of the work required is all that difficult and someone is going to end up with excellent waterfront accommodation. Standing rigging needs replacing and not sure of the condition of the sails. Does have a furler though.
I don't really know the first thing about sailing (yet),, if it was a pinch closer to Sydney where I put my fishing boat in I'd have a good look at her. Luckily I think it sold as it is no longer available to look at

Yes "Tucantu" sold last night. Bought by an experienced yacht restorer from Sydney. Yacht will be staying here on a prime mooring.

Cannot believe the price of this (80ft Lexcen cruising yacht, 40mm solid fg hull, $380k), wonder if the photos are recent and if the engine is ok. Terrific bit of Aussie boatbuilding history, would be great to see it back here. http://www.vicsail.sydney/cordelia

At least it will be a quick trip back from Tahiti.
I also think SB will disagree with a top speed of 7 knots......
Real class!

I'm looking at this one next week.
Maybe a bargain, certainly a lot of boat for the money
True, true Loose!
If my chosen one doesn't pass muster in the survey on Monday, I'll have a back-up plan
This boat is a lot closer and would be a lot less hassle to get home, however, I'm pretty invested in the VDS in Sydney.
Go on Ramona! You know you want to!!
Stick with the Sydney VDS. Same length but the new boat is much larger, wider, more freeboard and better fit out for a live aboard.
Thanks Chris and Ramona.
That's comforting advice
I'm pretty excited and hope nothing bad is revealed in the survey.
That monstrocity is soooo ugly (and stupid) it deserves a price.
What was the owner thinking!?
Strewth! Strewth!
Here is one for you;

At $35k somebody tell him he is dreaming!
Huge disparity between different broker's price for the same boat
