About two seasons ago I got so sick of my new rpm kites falling apart, ( all broken parts were replaced under warranty ) I sold them when they were just six months old and swapped to Vegas. I still smash the Vegas just as hard and have had no problems with them, I have had the 2012 and the 2013 but I didn't bother upgrading this season as they are still in sh1t it hot condition.

well my first rpm was a 2013 10m and it exploded the second time i used it. start of the session the zipper just blew apart in the air i was only on the water for about 5 mins when it happened and hadn't dropped the kite. Got that fixed under warranty. Then about 3 months later it happened again same thing, zipper blew apart. i figured it must be a lemon of a kite so i traded it in and got a 12 and 9. the 9 is 2012 model but it was bran new still in the plastic. They were going all good and i was loving them but all of a sudden they have started to split the valves where the hose between the leading edge and the struts connect onto. iv now split 2 valves on each kite. the kites are both 7 months old. i dont understand how that part of the kite would even be under pressure when you have a big crash.

Back to the first kite (10m rpm) when the zipper blew everybody said they have never seen that happen before. but iv been looking at used kites on seabreeze lately and iv seen at 2 other rpm's for sale that have had their zippers replaced. i wont be getting them again as much as i love them. just not worth it. especially since they are so hard to get aswell.

Hi glendog, thanks for the response. Just a theory, it says on the instructions in hot climate pump your kite to 6 psi instead of 8 or 7 psi. Because air expands or some bulls***.
What kites are you thinking about buying next? Don't get north! I had lots of issues.

well after the first kite with the dodgey zipper i started making my kites a bit softer than i normaly would. not sure what psi. well that sux you said that because i was thinking vegas hahaha. sh!t now i dont know. i demo'd a few of kites the past 2 weeks (cab chaos, ozone c4, ozone catalist,) none of these compare to the rpm. so i dunno ill have to demo a few more kites. the rpm would be the perfect kite if it didnt break. but yeh theres only a few people that ride freestyle/wakestyle at my local spot and everybody else hardly ever crashes their kite so its hard to know what kites will actually take a beating. but like i said i dont know how valves splitting has anything to do with the kite crashing. i got a mate on a vegas who is just a bit above my level but still pretty close he also crashes a fair bit. his 2013 vegas exploded then he got a 2014 under warrenty and its going good.

I think you should give the 2014 RPM a go man.. the thing is indestructible. I feel like the zipper thing is definitely a one off because we haven't had any Slingshots with that at all. Have you given any thought to the Best TS? Absolutely amazing all-rounder with top notch wakestyle/freestyle capabilities. Double ripstop canopy material too (same as the Chaos) so definitely added durability.

Out of interest.. Why do guys go with the RPM over the Fuel for freestyle/wakestyle?

I haven't ridden either but am interested in both for the above discipline.

hi m8 i got the rpm over fuel because for what i have been told the rpm is more forgiven an that is what i need for my progression jus getting my head around my body position when doin unhooked tricks the lads where i kite to me are sick doing powered tricks an it looks so slow an smooth . so for me i need time to think.one day fuel but i love rpm an relaunch ability
coz i can t swim

i have had a quick go on a mates fuel. the fuel definitely has more slack line so it is a bit better for doing tricks but the rpm is a bit more user friendly, relaunches easier and has a bigger wind range. and is still awesome unhooked.

haha yeh that was actually me flying a kite for the first time. i did go and get a lesson after that tho.
