Yes, lots of us do.

660, I think, with the gull wings, and 680 for regular flat wings, are the smallest IIRC. The K-series has only two wings, the 545 and 600.

So long as it's not a Black fuselage or a Black fuselage wing you buy, they'll all fit perfectly.

Bigger guy + smaller kite + lighter wind the 820 is good for kite foil as well

I use the 900 to kite foil (also the 680 and 820 even) they are all fine.

I think the 660 would probably be the best kite foil wing for the S series but I haven't used one.

It really depends what you want to do, none of them are that fast compared to a lot of kite foil wings but I am more interested in light wind cruising around and speed isn't that important.

The 900 works quite well with the 460 tail

Haven't used the Axis for kiting as I think it would be a bit slow as all alotof them are low aspect. For my kite foil I have a slingshot warp speed 65 that will do 20 k ts even in the waves. There lies the problem. Move on a heavy fast foil for a lite slower one that needs more wings to go fast or just keep all of them. The issue is that they all ride differently and takes akes about 20mintues to get use to the new set up when ever I change be tween foils so I just want to pick the best all rounder out the 3

Get the black series with the HPS700 and 420 flat tail, it's just insane for kite. So fast, loose and glides

It's a completely different world to anything on the S series. Sold all my S series wings

I'm also a bigger guy, 97 kg, and would be starting to kitefoil in light wind (7-11 knots) conditions on a lake. Would you recommend the black series for someone new to kitefoiling? Or would the new BSC wings such as the 970mm or 890mm be a better foil to learn? FYI, I just purchased the 15m Gio Spirit to kitefoil.

I have not tried the BSC wings, but it makes sense to use a BSC as it's the new line of easy to use wings.
Just beware that the 970 is red fuse and 890 black fuse, hard to say which is best, if you can get going with the 890 on black, then great. Demo if you can.

KD has just created a super fast surf foil which works on the K fuselage

Oh the 700 is insane, love it. Fast and fun. Makes my old 680 look pedestrian.

Ive been using the 680 S series for 2-3 years and really like it - very stable and predictable. If you have the newer fuse (i dont), then the black series (HPS700 and 420 flat tail) look really interesting

I had my first ride of the HPS 700 yesterday. Ultra short black fuse and 370 rear for now.

The 700 required higher take off speed as expected, but similar to the 600 probably. It took a few goes as I was in a shallow spot and not overpowered on the 6m peak in gusty winter winds, it doesn't help when your foil touches the bottom mid way thru the 2nd loop. Every time. Once a gust came along and I was up and riding it felt fast and smooth and I was able to make friends with it pretty quickly. Very responsive with the shorter fuse, not "twitchy" but I had to be on the ball a few times with quick pitch corrections as I crossed into swell for example. Easy to carry good speed through gybes etc it wants to be powered and carve. Was able to play on swell nicely and carve around a little. I felt like it was a step up a gear from the 600 and it went upwind at a higher angle (particularly toeside) which was probably a function of higher speed. I also felt it was a more high energy session, I was putting a lot in to keep the foil under my feet, as opposed to relaxed cruising with the 820 but getting a lot out in return if that makes sense. But this could have been that it was my 2nd session of the day. It was only a short session but a good first session to get a read on the foil.

I'll buy the 380 rear when I can, and probably the HPS 880 as a 820 replacement. I'm a little torn between HPS or BSC but Adrian said "maybe HPS 880" so I'll use that ringing endorsement as the deciding factor.

Hoping for 20kt flat water session this avo, will post update..

Great insight KGB. My dream front wing would be relaxed and stable underfoot (like my 680) but fast and able to cover looong distances. I have this idea I could kitefoil downwind Perth-Lancelin which is around 100km (4-5 hours basically. )

Definitely go HPS for kite foiling. You'd want more speed. I used to kite on the 880 until I got the 700. There's an HPS650 and HPS830 coming out soon too

If you want to carve harder go ultra or crazy short fuse.

I wing foiled on the crazy short and flat 400 tail and it carved next level, albeit a bit "skatey". The 380 should add more stability at speed with those upturned tips. Still waiting for it....

So 2nd session today, again fairly short as wind was getting taken by squalls and there was a honking tide going with the wind so that stole some power and upwind ability.

2nd session thoughts.. liking the foil. It was still begging for more power today even in the gusts. I don't see the point of frothing over the 650 this seems as small as I'd go. I want to try it more powered/overpowered. I might even break out a faster inflato like my edge 11 just to see how it goes.

A few other random thoughts:
Carves beautifully, I had one heel to toe gybe where I really layed over into it and it just kept the speed and carved round like a hot knife thru butter.

Came up with a rush yesterday and today a few times. Have to really stomp the front foot but then it responds and stays in the water. Like most axis foils it doesn't build front foot pressure with speed.

Also interesting today when the wind dropped I was basically heading back to shore by looping and trying to start in the water. I wasn't expecting to actually get up as the tide was robbing all my power. After about 6 or 8 loops it came up very unexpectedly. I think it likes time and flow over the wing, different technique, something I'll play with.

That's definitely possible. I wouldn't use this as a surf wing. Flat water or river mouths in and out of the swell would be ok, or ocean on a really flat day maybe. I've been wanting to push things a bit faster and I think this will scratch that itch.

I like my 820 as well and will use it in super light conditions or bigger swell so I can keep the speed down and keep water under the foil. But ideally I'd like an upgrade that has slightly more speed and chuckability on tap when you want it, while still having low take off speed. Let us know if the 760 hits the spot.

Have you tried the 660? I can't remember. I think it can go as slow as the 820 but needs a little more oomf to get going in the lightest wind, and the flat wing has more top end...

I tried my HPS1050 for kite one and did not like it (it's my light wind size for wingding) as it doesn't turn enough for kite.

HPS880 is the biggest I would use, because it has a lot of glide you have plenty of time through the lulls. Now that I have the HPS700 I hardly ever use 880 for kite 700 stalls quickly though.
For light wind it would probably make more sense to go BSC since it has an earlier lift.

Bit of an update a mini review for you guys. I had 3 great sessions in the last 3 days, feeling the stoke. Had a few "life is short" reminders recently so I lashed out and bought a bit more gear.

Yesterday I was able to try my new light wind / surf setup, in the end I went with the HPS930. It's trading down from 1500cm2 with the 820 wing to 1200cm2, but I was hoping the extra wingspan & glide would overcome the lower takeoff pop that I presume the extra square cm provides and mean that it would still work for bottom end light wind. I was a bit nervous to go out as it was fathers day and the beach was full, and the water was also full with a paddle race on in the bay as well. Not a day to struggle and flail around. Wind was marginal but forecast to build and starting to pick up. My friend got going fine on his Soul 10 so I rigged the P4 6m.

First loop of the p4 and I was almost up and going.. glide kept the board moving while the 2nd power spike arrived, and we were away. The big wing is super stable under foot. Able to be ridden slowly like the 820 without stalling. Able to push up faster as well. Definitely not one to throw into turns, but still able to carve it left and right.

Then I started to get onto the big (for me) swell coming through. Backhand which is not preferred - normally. But I was having such a great time I started to learn to love backside waves more than I have before. Point this wing downhill and it takes off like a rocket. Breach the big wing tip carving and it shrugs it off without noticing. For such a big wing it comes alive in the surf and just makes it easy. I had such a good time I only came in when I could barely stand any longer.

Yes my board is 1cm longer than my wing is wide Although this wing is so stable I think I'll give my 80cm board a run with it. I had it with 370 rear, short fuse, 19mm mast. I'll try it with the 390 and 380 rears as well and see whether I notice a difference.




Friday I had a super flat water session with the HPS 700 & 380 rear on ultrashort fuse, 16mm mast, CarbonCo Nang 100 with straps. This combo was great fun, very alive under my feet, fast and carvy. I was out with various other kite and wing foilers and I felt like my gear was the most fun by a country mile, just super smooth and responsive with enough speed on demand to carve rings around everyone. I liked the 700 with the 370 rear but I think the 380 brings it to life.. however it does whistle. I'm working on sanding the trailing edge as I can't deal with a loud whistle. One of the other guys came in, his comment was "meh boring without waves" but I reckon that was largely down to his gear, I would never be bored in flat water with this setup. Waaay to much fun. I'm trying to wean myself off the peaks to start jumping with this combo, but it's just hard to make myself fly anything else at the moment...

I got a 760 last month, and Snap! I got three days in a row last week too. And yesterday. So a good week.

First day out I tried it on the 75cm mast cos I prefer the 820 on that length, as it's now stable. Wasn't great, but I come see potential.

Next session I put my 85cm mast on, which I've been using for ages... And it was much better. None of the wiggling the 820 forced on the gear.

So from then on, I'm loving it. Tad more glide, tad more stability, no slower than the 660 and carves just as hard.

Also... Nailed my first semi-successful toe-to-heel tacks yesterday too
