I have !
Now think of the height, weight, strength difference in that scenario.
And what am I to do, being a single, white, middle aged male if I am to see it ?.

Three words. Child protection services.
It's got different names around the country. Witnessing child abuse is a legitimate reason to call 000. They might not arrive in time, but if you catch the abuser's number plate and make a report, you may just save a child's future.
That said, foster care has had some alarmingly poor results so I wouldn't go making that call lightly.
Sometimes the softer approach works better. These parents are usually just struggling. Saying something like, geez parenting is hard sometimes, might get a better result than the hard approach.

I would suspect that some/a lot of DV is perpetuated by males that have grown up without a father figure being a real Dad in their house,

The only way they have grown up as a kid is listening to their own mother ranting about their lost/absent father. all they are hearing is anger and abuse from mothers, and they get tired of it, these kids want a father themselves.

I have never been on the receiving end of DM, but I know/ have known many that have. And no, I have never lifted a hand to a woman.
I have lost a few good mates over the years from exactly what Razzonater is saying.
Over the years I've had to endure good friends call me up and say "Hey mate, me and the wife are having a little problem, can I crash on your couch for a few days"
4 months later they are still there, sometimes I would wake in the middle of the night to go for a piss and I'd see mate just sitting there sobbing away on my couch.
What is he sobbing about ?
Well he's just lost his wife, his kids, his house of which he is still paying the mortgage for, has an AVO on him, and is fully aware of the sh/tstorm he's in for whence the Lawyers get there claws in.
And no, none of the below ever raised a hand to their wife, but hey, she can just say he did, that's all it takes.

mate, i've been directly involved in hundreds of DV matters and i have no idea where you get this from. in my experience maybe 1%, at a stretch are falsified, and they're exposed very quickly by the court system. perhaps it's different in WA but i highly doubt it.

They aren't always exposed, mine wasn't. Trouble is that when they are the person submitting the application aren't done for giving the court BS but just sent in their way leaving the guy (myself included) with the legal bill while they get off without spending a cent. I ended up 30k in a hole from the resentful whore putting applications into court and I was left without recourse. The legal system is a joke.
And yes it was shown to be bullshi t.

There is no evidence recorded of false avo as not one woman has ever being charged in family court of perjury..... or taken to court following for defamation of character....
Not one, out of the thousands and thousands of cases not a single woman has ever been charged...
