"Not interested in a waist leash (they always get wrapped around my leg or between my legs)."
After using the ankle leash for 2 years, I was the same up until 6 months ago. Now onto waist leash and wouldn't go back. Yes, I too had the leash between my legs, but when I remount after crashing, I just make sure the leash is hanging on the outside of either the left or right leg and there are no problems.
Not to mention never having the leash wrap around my foot ever again. Swings and roundabouts I suppose.
Actually the easiest option is the leash between the legs and getting into the board from back rather than the side.
Not for me. I like to start with my back to the wind in either switch stance or my regular stance and I don't start on my knees.
It is also easier to mount from the side for me as I can hold the wing with the rail of the board for extra support before standing.
