IT hasn't stopped blowing from the east and SE here in the South Pacific for the past 6 weeks 20-30 knots most days ,not a good direction for sailing for us ,not good for the fishing boats ,we are eating steak now ?
bring on the S W wind please .it certainly is not dry .we had nothing (sw wind ) last year , lets hope it is different this year .sea water temperatures are up for this time of year . 22 c but early days .
Lets hope for a windy winter guys .

The new Starboard range is pretty good .I would choose the same width or a volume you are interested in .
I Personally like the 67 and 73 Isonic. they seem to handle chop well ,I would like a 119. curve for mucking around on .

I would suggest going to Germany In October ,I remember landing and taking off .but had a good time .?

Drugs are bad Tardy. Healthier option would be go to Amsterdam, they have healthy omelette's i think. Go eat those and dream of sailing back home ?
When is your Pacific sojourn happening?

No Man Octoberfest is a great time in Germany .lots of beer .and everyone is happy .and a great atmosphere ,I've been to the bulldog cafe in Amsterdam don't you worry but that was when I was young ,6 week count down for Aqua water in Aitutaki .gopro footage coming up .I hope you get lots of windsurfing in Mobz .take a good wetsuit .

105 Starboard Futura would be my pick .??

Was out on my dyno in a lull recently and got blasted past by a lady on a small futura and a duke about a meter smaller than my 6.7 blade. Went back later and saw she was on an upright drake vs my weed fin. Left me wanting a bit

a bit of the lady or more fin ? ?but yes a pointer will always have more lift .Drakes are pretty good fins ,for the price .

AusMoz asked: Just out of interest- was Nicole Kidman in it?

Yes, it was Nicole, as per the credits.

Having spotted all of those windsurf-gear features, after a bedroom romp, I also spotted that she had a very nice posterior.

A young Nicole Kidman

thanks Tardy, but it's more complicated than that.
First attempt failed because I just pasted the pics straight onto the page, and it crashed the site loosing my post. 2nd at tempt failed when I edited my first post, about 4hrs later. it said some thing like, post too old.
I spat the dummy, because I'd spent ages on it, all gone up in smoke with no result.
A direct picture paste attempt into the old site, did nothing, so then you remember you have to go through the process of saving the pic and navigating to it.
Surely it would be much better, when trying to edit a post to be told at the start that the post is too old to edit, start a new one?
So I'm still a bit miffed I'm afraid.
I know Laurie is trying to get this right and there was a long beta phase, but this didn't happen then.

ok mate ,its a pity .Your in-depth write ups are more than I can understand and I'm sure it was a good one ,,I am hopeful these sails work out for you ,they certainly
look great ,I was hoping to change to a few of the larger size race sails but Patrik has some unusual size mast like 480 and 520 missing the 490 ,which I have ,then a hugely long mast base on them which has scared me off them .
And then I don't know if they will work with my Duotone SDM mast and Severne so I will stick with the brand I know will work with my mast .I know a few guys over east that are having good results with their RDM Ezzy 91 % mast using the GT3.to be honest I believe race type sails work best with 100 % mast .at high speed that extra return to normal sail shape is nice .you just need a **** load of money to back it up .the last picture of the sail looks a lot better than the first rig up .wouldn't it be nice is there was only one mast supplier for all sails ...HA as if .

Phil I saw an interview with Patrik not long after he released the race sails and he saidthat the smaller sizes where probably compatible with Neil Pryde masts and the larger sizes with Severne. Merena runs the 5.2 Race+ with a Neil Pryde mast (RDM) and it sets really well. Jayden did his 2 sec and 5x10 pb's with that rig so it sort of validated it for us. Jayden had a Patrik SDM mast extender but it sort of messed with the bottom cam.

good to know ,thanks Dave

looks like a lot of weight on the 2 cam

yes, there's not much seam shape, so the cams are doing a lot of the work, but it still rotates fine.

Looks bloody good .

OK I'm back on the old site so I'll have another go.
Here's the sail on the loft 400 RDM Downhaul at +3 outhaul on -2, sail very hard to rotate.

Then I rigged it on a KA 370 RDM and a Patrick 370 RDM, couldn't see any difference between them, both set to spec, gave right downhaul and outhaul.
It needed a moderate pump to rotate in zero wind.

Now that wasn't so hard was it?????

Just throwing this in the MAST talk ,I have a 430 Severne SDM 90 % Slalom mast ,then I use a neilpryde 34 X -tender ,I use this on my 2025 8,0 Ezzy Lion ,I change 2 of the cams supplied by Ezzy in the kit .I have been testing it lately vs the 460 RDM .ezzy .I think I prefer the severne set up .it seems a little softer and reaction time is quicker .I get a Nicer belly in the sail . Ezzy sails say their sails work with most mast .Which I find true ,but not so good with NP .A little too soft .
But Ezzy say their mast are Hookipa wave mast .
My thoughts ..are Slalom mast better for slalom sails ,? the wall on the severne mast is defiantly thinner ,does this give a quicker
return to stability after a gust .? I think yes ...I find my 460 Duotone too stiff for my 2025 8,0 Lion .its a completely different sail to the 2018 and 2021 's .defiantly faster and more rigid .The luff Material is super thick .its a more stabile sail vs previous years .and faster .by quite a bit .top end that is

When I started Windsurfing in 2008, it was the pits. It was an old man's sport that your Dad thumbled at using old mismatched gear. So everybody in SA was jumping to kite boarding. 3 months of Windsurfing, watching kiters that had started when I did, riding back and forth, I very nearly walked up to the big Red Baron kite surfing trailer, and asked for lessons. The only reason I didn't do that, was I was house broke at the time and could not afford any more gear or lessons. Many of the kiters at my spots were ex-windsurfers, and were giving me training at my local spot. There has been only a dribble of new people coming into sport since then, at least here in Adelaide.

PS/ There has been a massive increase in Kitesurfing here. All young people, 20s etc.

I started in 1997 gear was plentiful ,never saw kites then .I could not change now as I have thousands of dollars in windsurfing gear ,plus I love windsurfing coming from catamaran sailing

plus we are different and unique ?glad you stayed original . ?

Question .why is there a shortage of race sails to buy ,? nothing in the shops .do they only order a handful .

can we blame Trump for this one ? ? or are shops just ordering if you place an order .
Return To Classic site 😭
Or... let us know if a problem, so we can tweak! 😅
