Gotta rip that bandaid off sooner or later. I would love to know the inside conversation around if this is the best design from a business, or performance standpoint.

Specifically, was the decision aimed at picking a design with zero warranty issues and sacrificing a bit of performance? When I think of the future of foiling I see little opportunity for the fuse to get slimmer on the code, axis, lift, c9, mortise and tenon design. I thought KT going triple AFS style joint was super forward thinking and expected to see more of that in the future.

To be fair, the new F-One "fuse" is the same width as the old one and is barely taller, so it's already one of the thinnest fuses out there.

If the fuse is the same basic size, they must have some vastly improved material strength properties in it to allow for the loss of cross section at the big cavity that the mast foot fits into ?!

Just following up on the stitching concern I mentioned earlier. I have some bad news: while I was pumping the strut today (with the leading edge already sealed), the leading edge spontaneously exploded. A friend lent me a spare wing from another brand, and the difference in construction is pretty obvious. Their closing seams are folded and use multiple rows of stitching, whereas the Firefly's stitching seems to be the weak point here. I've attached photos of the burst seam.

Not saying this was the cause of your blow out, but the instructions for inflation say you should inflate the strut first, then the leading edge, and deflate in opposite.

I've got a 5M Fly Pro and a 4m FireFly Pro LTD. The later has quite different material for the strut and leading edge that is "soft" to touch with a weave through it. I believe this is to help minimise the sharp edges you can get when packing away the stiffer Aluula fabrics that can potentially puncture bladders. It's still manufactured by Aluula according to the advertising. It's still pretty stiff when inflated though. Both very nice wings to use.

I've heard that whole the product team in New Zealand has already been let go, so maybe Uli is gone too. Looking on the North Actionsport site there are lots of job vacancies, which I hope they have filled if the old team are gone already or there could be issues.

Yes I heard they shut the New Zealand office and offered job positions in the Netherlands, which nobody took up !!
Looks like the company is being run by accountants now so is probably going to die a death of zero innovation and cost cutting designs !

I've used Duotone, Boston, Ensis and now NP, definitely the NP sup style valves win for me.
