A monsoon trough extends over the Peninsula and Cooktown waters. Tropical low 29U [1002 hPa] in the northern Coral Sea will move towards the northeast coast over the next few days, most likely crossing the coast between Cooktown and Townsville on Friday, drawing the monsoon trough south.
