Mean Sea Level Prognosis Charts
Weather Situation for Queensland Gulf of Carpentaria
An equatorial trough extends over the Gulf Country. The trough will move slowly north and shift over the southern Gulf waters by Friday, then remain slow moving for the rest of the week. A weak low [1006 hPa] embedded in the trough may shift over the Gulf over the weekend.
Weather Situation for North Queensland
An equatorial trough extends east across the Cooktown waters. The trough will move slowly north over the next few days, moving into the Peninsula waters late today, with southeasterly winds developing to the south of the trough.
Weather Situation for South Queensland
A trough and southeasterly wind change will continue moving north across Central Queensland waters. A ridge of high pressure extends over the southern Queensland waters in the wake of the trough, with winds strengthening today as a new high moves into the Tasman Sea and a low pressure system in the Coral Sea approaches from the east.
