A monsoon trough extends over the Peninsula and Cooktown waters. Tropical low 29U [999 hPa] in the northern Coral Sea will approach the northeast coast in the next few days, likely crossing the coast between Cooktown and Mackay on Friday or Saturday, and drawing the monsoon trough south.
