I know that there are at least three sizes available for the Dart -- 4.0, 4.5 and a 5.0. I think there is also a 3.0 and a 3.5 and maybe some more smaller sizes.

Apparently the Dart comes in four sizes -- 3.0, 4.0, 4.5 and 5.0.

Dart 3.0 first impressions.

Bigger handles then Slingwing V2, should be no more hand crunching.

The design is really impressive and hard to see in pictures. It sure is like nothing else on the market and looks like it's gonna be super fun.

You can park the wing in tripod mode.

Same type of bag as Slingwing V2.

Same inflate and deflate and connection tubes as Slingwing V2.

Comes with same coil leash as Slingwing V2 which I really like.

8 PSI on 3.0

Has harness line attachment points, I've really come to love these on the Slingwing V2.

So we are starting to see 0.5 increment in wings size... Gee all the good things I was hoping for naively...2 wings cover 98% of the range....simple no question...no wing swaping every hour in gusty spot....all vanished! I guess if they make .5 increment there is a demand for that I get it. I was hoping for a no hassel sport...less gear...less thinking....I guess it's a "specialized" wing. Ahh well my fantasy lasted 2 years at least! ;-)

I think it's more so you can "fine tune" your quiver ... ie: so you can choose 3.5/4.5 instead of 4.0/5.0 for example or even skip a size or more like 3.5/5.0 perhaps. Just like allot of windsurfing sails are available every .3 +/- or so you you can potentially cover more range with less sails ...example 4.0/4.7/5.5 instead of 4.0/4.5/5.0/5.5...

That stuff is all fair enough. After rolling I unclip the strut tube. The rubber can stick and weld it closed. I have had them weld closed. A bit of a massage can reopen them.

It's not a bad idea to move the strut clip around a bit so it's not always crimping the same spot.I've never had a strut tube fail.

PS My habit is to loosely roll the wing and throw it in the boot. If it's only damp and/or I'm having a session the next day I just leave it there. If it's wet or I want to dry it I have a length of 50mm conduit hanging from the roof of my garage. I sling the wing over it to dry. It's good for wetsuits and towels and stuff.

Not a fan of the fold it in half roll. It's too hard to keep everything neat when rolling. I'd rather slowly and neatly roll, or just chuck it in the gear tub.

Also the tight roll is a problem. You end up with a stressed point where you fold the rolled wing over. A loose roll patted flat has less stress and folds neatly into the bag.

A buddy of mine who wing foils pretty good, is going to sell his 5 meter Dart. It's well built but doesn't deliver enough power. For wind challenged spots, his reasoning is it would not get used very frequently, and he already has a 5m slingwing.

I am very curious about how that will work out for me. I have the Slingwings V2 and am going to get a set of Darts. I had the chance to try the 5m Dart some weeks ago. I liked it a lot but I thought that it was not as good in low winds as my 5.4 Slingwing. But then, most of the times I try other peoples gear I think it is harder for me to get into foiling than with my own gear. So, being used to your gear seems to have a big impact on how you perceive it. I will spend some more time with the Darts and then decide if I should keep my Slingwing 5.4 for marginal winds.

I've had 1 short session in +25kts freezing conditions with the 3m Dart. I can give some first impressions. Dart is not easy to wrangle but once up and flying I really liked how it handles. It eats gusty conditions really well. It feels extremely high performance and any little adjustment make the wing react. The sweet spot is small but feels great when there. This is not a beginner friendly wing if compared to the Slingwing V2. SW V2 is super forgiving with a huge sweet spot. I unfortunately already put my stab through the boom but luckily didn't pierce the bladder. The boom material is thick and feels like it will last. Fixed using duck tape. I have a SW V2 3.2 and the stiffness of the Dart 3 feels so much better. Getting going is harder as the sweet spot is small, making it easy to lose control and have to reset for take off. I can't say I felt much of a low end difference compared to the SW V2 3.2 but I'm riding in high winds. Can't wait to spend some more time with the Dart and take her into the air.

I had a similar experience on my first high wind Dart 3m session. Wind was 30-45mph. Forget about trying to pump it up on foil. I just waited till a strong gust came through and the Dart turned on. This wing prefers to be upside down. I had a couple sketchy moments when I was holding the leading edge handle and crawling onto my board and it flipped over abruptly, trapping and twisting my hand in the handle. I figured out a way to get it from water to air quickly. Due to the massive dihedral, I was able to grab one of the front power handles while it was still on the water and then just pull it right out of water into flying mode. I was having to knee start my 110l HIPE due to the rough water that comes with 40mph wind. It was a frustrating session at times but once I was up on foil, it was sick. It seems to want to fly lower, like right infront of my waist. I found this position to be comfortable. I was using a harness and hooked in flying felt solid and charged upwind. I was on the Axis 980. I didn't try any jumps with it except on the beach, which were kind of amazing. The low AR of it seemed to make boosting easier. It yanked me up in the air more quickly than my SSV2. Another thing that was different was how the wing spins while jibing. It has a different center of balance than the V2. I wasn't sure what to do with it. A lot of these things may have to do with it just being way smaller than anything I have flown. I have had a couple of schloggy light wind sessions on the 4.5. It is quite a bit more stable than the 3. It doesn't have the low end of the V2. When I pump it it wants to "Dart" forward. These wings rocket forward towards where I point them. I feel like I have more freedom to go where I want to with the Dart. I am stoked to do some jumps with it.
