2) Buy and learn how to use a tourniquet. A good friend had a close call two weeks ago. We're all figuring out ways to connect these to our regular set up from here out.
I learned this weekend that the ideal option (in worst case scenario) is to have an Israeli bandage and a tourniquet. You first apply the tourniquet, then the bandage, then aim to remove the tourniquet within 20-30 minutes (the timeframe before potential lasting damage is done to muscles and nerves (plus other side effects). For my purposes, this option is something that I'm primarily considering for longer offshore runs or when going out in places that are higher risk or isolated, etc. It's not my intention to be "over the top" mainly to think about mitigating risk when the impacts of not doing it could be significantly more consequential.
