nope, don't need electric. just get a bigpump. Besides, they only specify 12psi on the hs strut.

I have the big Duotone pump. Gauge goes to 7psi.

Beside the psi, how are the handles? the bag? and other attributes? We are in the 3rd generation of wings now, so hopefully they are not making the mistakes previous wings have made.

Yep my thoughts exactly. Is the wing design in line with the latest gen wings. Because it better be for that price no matter how good allula is.

I tried the 5M A-series again yesterday (full Aluula frame). Same power as my 4m Wingride 3, but WAY lighter and insane drift/handling. It's a joke how light in the hands it is.

Id like to wing this allula fancy pants wing against my PPC, to test how stacks up against a really good "normal" wing. Be a good litmus test I feel.

Yes, the PPC is a wing I'd love to try. The Cabrinha Mantis I tried (3M) in 30-35 knots was fantastic yesterday and seems to have some bugs worked out that others are still working on and the handles are just right in my opinion.. From what I can gather from trying a few OR wings compared to other companies' is that they really stand out in weight and handling number one. They are not necessarily super grunty for a given size, so if you need/want that super low end ability, they will not be your first choice. Once up on foil the light weight is really something to experience however. Transitions, flagged out riding, etc is like riding with a tiny wing even on a 5 or 6M. The handles on the OR are very comfy but the feel/stiffness is coming from a softer side of the spectrum. For some this will be fantastic, others will prefer stiffer, Cabrinha style handles. What's very cool is the OR wing will eventually have handles that can match your taste/preference ("Matrix system"). The handle interface is huge and dramatically affects handling depending on what style of riding you prefer. Being able to mix/match handles as a customizable feature is pretty cool.

Yeh and even though the low end as you say is not as obvious it will also make dogging it on bigger 5:6m wings much easier when lulls hit - those bigger wings are hard work to hold up without enough wind. Yeh man flagging in a bigger super light wing is where it's at. Also probably easier to develop a quick pumping action also in the lighter winds

still waiting to try one .

I saw reference to the interchangeable handles too, but can you explain this further? The handles in the photo in this thread look pretty crude! The windows are also kind of a joke.

Yeh those handles? was the first question that came to mind.

Looks very V1ish with no neoprene covers on the inflation points, floppy handles and yeh those windows. Surely they just add weight and deformation when they stretch. Could be wrong, it might be the best wing ever. Overall shape and tight canopy look the goods.

Does that say 12psi! On the strut? Also the stitching looked messed up between the leading edge and strut.

Does anyone know the weight some of these wings?
A side by side size and weight comparison could be of real value.

2nd, should we expect some other brands having some Aluula material wings at some point. Or does O.R. not allow that?

Duotone has announced it will be building Aluula kites so it's stands to reason wings won't be far behind, but at a price.

Excellent! That's one of the brands I was hoping for.

I'd assume wings could benefit more than kits, especially for low wind bigger wings, time will tell.

Nah don't need time to tell that. Much Lighter and more rigid. Say no more.

From what I understand there will be other handle options including a carbon mini boom or mini booms. I tried a version that had the Cabrinha-style handles and loved them. The "soft" handles in the photos are the stock ones and are actually super comfy to grip with a larger diameter; they're just not stiff and give a bit of a dampened feel. You can ride them more with your finger tips as opposed to needing to death grip them. Stiffer, different shaped options for those that prefer them will be available later, I think. The handles in the photos look like they haven't been ridden, as they adopt a more "C" shape in reality. I actually really liked the small windows. They were placed well for me and I don't care for giant windows. That wing is the HL version, so no Aluula leading edge. The strut takes super high pressures (we pumped up ours to around 12+PSI). Canopy tension and profile all looks really good on these wings. Really looking forward to seeing reviews of the final product. I don't own any myself yet (currently ride a hodgepodge of Armstrong, Takuma, and Ozone wings as I'm still exploring the feel I want and the OR wings are only becoming available soon). The A-series wing (full Aluula leading edge/strut) I tried was particularly impressive for its weight/handling/frame feel. The 5m A-series is laughably light but I have no idea what the actual weight is.

Just wait until North sails starts making wings from 3Di Raw or Cuben fibre. Then you can say we're pod racing.

What pump do you use for 12 psi? My Duotone gauge only goes to 7-8

Plenty of smaller piston hand pumps that can put out higher psi, but always at the expense of volume. So while a 2" piston pump can reach 15 psi and more, it will take you twice as long to get there over a 4" piston pump...

Ocean Rodeo Big Pump. No idea how accurate it actually is but goes to 13 or so.
