I am considering these and can demo one, but I cant demo a full size range. Assuming I like them what quiver are people riding in these wings?
I need a quiver that will go from 13-30 knots. Right now I'm on a 5/4/3 quiver (OR Glides, which generally ride small), using the 5 starting at 13/14 knots up to 20 (this is my most used size), using the 4 starting at around 18 knots and using the 3 starting around 22-24 knots. Im 80kg and generally riding a 60L board, but also have an 80L for lighter conditions.
Should I go 5.7 / 4.3 / 3.6 (is that going to give me enough high end?), 5.7 / 4.3 / 3 (goldilocks, but missing my go-to 5m), or 5 / 4.3 / 3 (enough low end?).
Can anyone with experience with the OR Glides compare the two?
They have really good range - both low and top. You could easily replace your 5/4/3 OR quiver with 5/3.6
That's my experience as well. 5/3.6 could cover me from 12-35 at 90kg wet on Omen 1050 foil/ Flux 72L sinker.
Opted for the New OR AA on the 5M for its advantage on the low end (10-20) and the potential longer life expectancy.
The 3.6 would be a the work horse for 15-35. it could replace a 4M/3M OR glide A.
The new OR AA 5M flags better and has a better pistol grip and better low end but on most flight characteristics the Flux would be my preferred wing.
I could draw more parallels between the OR AA and North Mode but on flight characteristics the Flux has the edge on
both for my needs.
I do like the option to equalize pressure between strut and leading edge on the North in case of lost pressure on either.
It saved me many sessions when I had a pinhole and I was too lazy to fix it. The one handed riding is obviously
appealing for many though I now prefer the pistol grip. I can ride one handed using the harness line though I hardly
ever find myself doing so.
