I did ride it before chopping. Not sure what you mean about drag?? Sky Rama promotes chopping to improve turning so it is not done without some high level thought process.

I used to ride a 1550 V1 with a 232 tail I have changed to the new A+ system with 1550 V2 and also the new V tail. I am 93 kgs and only foil prone. I have been riding the 1550 V2 for 15 hours in all different conditions and sizes currently I have a love-hate opinion of it at the moment. It definitely pumps better than the V1 but does not carve a wave nowhere near as good as the V1. I am not a fan of the V tail as well. At the moment I'd prefer my old set up.

No experience on V1. Have V2 1550, 60 fuse and 72 mast. Wasn't liking 232 tail until negatively shimmed with toy chopper blade (about -1), works heaps better now. Pumps better and no collapsing anymore. V-tail was better with no shim but 232 is my choice. 95Kg. When I get time, might try and print a shim.

Watching Jason (wingman) up at Exmouth last week or so he's having a lot of success on the 1550 V2 with a minus 2 shim in the V Tail.. And he was struggling (with pump and links) for a month or so before he finnally made the change. Now he's back to his best.
