I'm sure you've seen a kite down down in the shore break before, it's rarely pretty. 50% of the time i've seen it happen the kite has emerged either shredded, popper bladder/s or generally trashed. And i'm not talking huge waves here :) Their cloth is for sure more UV durable though.
