Ha ha ha you got a can for everything mate.... So long as its windy I couldn't care what direction it is or how small the ramps are, just need to get some salt water on my gills and wind in my sails

But, Megs and I are heading to Rye.

Never sailed there b4,

anyone else from IWC heading down?

Yep, likely be hitting Rye too, possibly both days.

Flipper, should bring your camera, sounds like it should be a biggest turn out for winter.

The scary part is that it is totally windless out there today, still hoping for the strong wind tomorrow.

I have no Idea either. Been dissapointed so many times with the wind, it would be nice to be overpowered for a change.

Maybe Ill just bring the lot!

Thanks. I might give it a go if it gets up to 30knts here. I see the Windmap says its about 5 knts less than the bay. 800metres seems ok but not so sure about the water temp Time to pull out the 4/3 and the extra vest.

I haven't got gear small that I can handle in 30 knots. I have not been to Lysterfield lake before. How long are the runs there in a northerly? Is it more likely to be a few knots under what the coast areas are doing??

Lysterfield only works on a Northerly, across the lake I am guessing its 800m give or take.

It gets quite windy cause the wind funnels through the valley just north and comes blasting through!

For some reason I doubt that it will hit 30kts there though. But the water will be colder than the bay, thats for sure!

Waggles, the run at Lysterfield is less than than 500m straight across IMHO, but of course you can go up/broad to make it longer. I did go there once when 35kn dead on N at green point was too much for me.

Was probably 5-10kn less but _insanely_ gusty. Went from 25kn to below 10kn and back within one run and so on, and the wind was constantly moving around on the lake. Had to dance on the board like mad. Jibing was interesting . But you have flat water. Also, on some days it can be relatively steady (for Lysterfield).

Do you need a smaller board or sail? I have a spare 4.5 Manic...

Thanks ddevil for the offer (and to others sending pms to offer smaller gear) I have a 4.7sail and 78litre board (I weigh 67kgs). Its probably more about where I can best survive 30 to 40knts now predicted. Too full on for me and my skills at Rye unfortunately. Might try hampton tucked in behind Green Point if not Lysterfield. Greenpoint early might be survivable. Smaller sail next purchase.

Hate to be picky Jerzy but consistant 20 kts on Sunday rather than gusting from 15 - 30 at Inverloch would have been better Do you think you can dial it in for next weekend

Right. I try to keep it at a constant 20kts next Sunday, but only since you asked so nicely

Anything else?
