I haven't got gear small that I can handle in 30 knots. I have not been to Lysterfield lake before. How long are the runs there in a northerly? Is it more likely to be a few knots under what the coast areas are doing??

Lysterfield only works on a Northerly, across the lake I am guessing its 800m give or take.

It gets quite windy cause the wind funnels through the valley just north and comes blasting through!

For some reason I doubt that it will hit 30kts there though. But the water will be colder than the bay, thats for sure!

Thanks. I might give it a go if it gets up to 30knts here. I see the Windmap says its about 5 knts less than the bay. 800metres seems ok but not so sure about the water temp Time to pull out the 4/3 and the extra vest.

The temps what worries me the most too. I would want to take my sinker out, but I know it will result in me spending excessive time in the water. My big board will keep me out of the water but its like an aircraft carrier. What to do, what to do???

You can get it for $800 USD + shipping, which should save you around $300-$400 AUD .

Rye might be a better choice, at least the water temp would be more bearable, and longer runs - assess on the day, Mobi

Ahhh..... it's not superstition I believe in but the fickle nature of the weather and the wrath of the majority on the forums!

The wind at lysterfeild only works if it is a straight northly fellas NW NE SW SE are all crappy the wind is to gusty to windsurf. The best lake to windsurf ever is hazelwood pond

Not true...on a N-NW it funnels down the valley and straightens up a bit, so its definately rideable....not as gusty as any other direction.....it's just that there are probably better options than freezing yr nuts off.
