Just be very carefull about speed sailing at the Angling Hall end. Apart from dodging all the other water users ,the water is getting very shallow at the far end (sth) For any speed sailing go off towards the pier, nice sand spit, very few other users and its a better angle for going fast. The last thing we want is some one to stuff up going fast, then they might enforce that 10kt speed limit. Yes it does apply to us

There seems to a good ground swell in regards to a club at inverloch.
I'll be in it . there wouldn't be a better way to spend a day . there should be a common link so all can stay in touch. clinics , lesson great stuff . I was down there at the sand bar when it was discussed. come one come all .

Once you have all things set in place, how about making a day of it and as a group come over this side of the bay for a day of flatwater blasting

Hi B3 - congratulations on your first post - may it be one of many. I would like to see this Forum as the common link for us Invy boarders and we need to work on that floating bar at the sandbar concept!!. There are a few things that are being worked on in the background so when things come to light I will inform people.

OB64 - definite plan of mine for sometime to take a road trip down your way, so good excuse to get others involved. Will put it in the planner file.

Sounds great to me. The Inverloch Collective could pack picnics and make a day of it. Where about are you referring to OB64?

I'm probably heading down to Inver this weekend. Anybody out?

I am planning to be there on Sunday. With the forecasted wind direction we may need to be sailing from near the pier but there is plenty of time for the forecast to change yet!

Probably Pt Henry. Great flat water spot for those who feel the need for speed.

Hi everyone,
It's looking good for the weekend (and the first week of the challenge).
I haven't been able to get a wind monitor in place so I'll take an average between the peak gust readings @ Wonthaggi and Pound Creek.
Once you've clocked a time and got a photo...upload them to the forum or send them to me info@driftmedia.com.au.
Have fun and play nicely !!!!!

Another great day at Inverloch. 20-25kts from the SW by 1pm. Was good to see so many people on the water. Although, seemed to be quite a bit of gear breakage from various people today...sails, booms and boards.

All by Pablo. Lots of smiles, I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Except me because ejmack had a better GPS reading than me
Give drift a bit of time to get the photos up but check them out at www.driftmedia.com.au/iwc

After a few close calls over the past season I now gybe well before the end of the sandbar..... means I miss about 1/2 the run but much less chance of damaging gear or myself.

Drift, which was you (on the water) yesterday? I briefly met you in the carpark I think.

Sounds like you guys had a great time yesterday, I was planing to join you but I thought the forcast looked like it was going to have to much west in it until late.

I ended up at ricketts South and had a bit of a wait until the wind kicked in.

Ejmack, did you get the Kode on the water?

Oldsalt, how are you liking the f2?

Jman - I was wondering if you guys would be coming down. The wind was actually NW until about lunch time. Few of us were out but it was quite gusty. Then the wind swung around to SW and evened out at I would say 20-25kts. It was really good. I didn't get the Kode on the water. Water was as flat as and I was having too much fun on the Futura. Probably should have however.

No Jelly fish at Inverloch, but plenty of Kiters to avoid.

Hey Jman
Water starting with jelly fish sounds like fun. Third outing with the F2 105ltr. The morning was ordinary. The wind was 10 kts - 20 kts so I was sinking in the 10 kts and going from 0 - 22 kts in the 20kts. Spent a lot of time in the water. The afternoon was better. 20 - 25 kts. Set up the 5.5(was tempted to put up the 4.7) and got some good runs in. Need some expert help from you and Bondy as the board is still wanting to turn up wind on me. I think it is part stance and mast position and harness line length and position. Look froward to catching the Three Amigoes at Inverloch sometime soon

OldSalty - I'm certainly no expert but I have found if I hook in too early my board/s also heads upwind. Much more noticable on smaller boards. Leave the hooking in until a bit later maybe. Also, tilting the rig forward and pulling in on the back leg helps to force the nose downwind. Either way, you'll get use to it and it wont be a problem soon!

Thanks EJMack..I see you are topping the table at the moment in terms of speed...
You haven't considered rubbing vegetable oil on Old Salty's footstraps, sledging or dirty tactics to hold onto your lead?????

Haha.... it may come to that yet!!!!! (Thanks for the tips!)

Seriously though, the conditions were good that day but I'm sure someone will come along and break it very soon..... But it was good to finally get a GPS and see a speed.

Think you went a bit far with putting that 'false' panel in Pedro's sail - he was blasting along until your skullduggery took hold and the hole opened up. Not content with sabotaging his sail, that hacksaw job on his boom also paid kept his speed down....your rep is preceding you Old Salty...!

Pedro - hope the repairs didn't cost too much. But I suppose you know where to send the bill
