Here's a map at StKilda of Kite zone where 'Key' states kites and other vessels can exceed 5 knots within the zone, it's flanked by 5 knot zones except on the NW corner, so you will have to jump the buoy flat out to avoid the 5knot rule before safely negotiating the kites and peeps having lessons. Use caution and show some respect cause it's a "kite zone", otherwise just use the 5knot zone to the north and walk up.

Just read this thread this morning after talking to Jerry yesterday at Dawson St...I will try to get there for the Hampton 11am start...bit unorganised but never mind. If anyone is reading what is the precise meeting point; I dont normall sail from Hampton. Is the intention to finish up at the Zu basically ?

Congrats to both Jermaldan and Ian for making it down to the Zu today. Fairly average conditions too making it a slow trip (I packed it in at Elwood). Looking forward to the next Trial run in better conditions.

We really need to do it when the sun is out and we have a nice 18+ seabreeze and never try to run a windsurfing event before 3pm in the summer.
Though well done to the guys that decided to give it a go

Well I guess I was the one left with my cock in my hand today;)

2.30 would have been the time to do it. Although if I had been planing it would have been far to easy a run. Me thinks Bono to StKilda on the back of a proper Seabreeze next time.

Who's in?

I dont really understand why, but today was a bizzaro in terms of the sawtooth pattern in the windstrength. Check out the St Kilda ( http://www.baywx.com/stk.html ) or fawkner graphs....

This sort of explains why we struggled to get it off the ground this Sunday...

Who is off work from next week and is planning on doing some sailing?

Two week break for me, staying at home and hoping to sail as much as possible.

Weirdest day of wind i've experienced. I reckon i rigged and unrigged about 5 times. Got wet long enough to cut my foot on the reef at Hampton and thats it[}:)].

Wish i had've been home at Invy, the guys had a great sail all day while i was driving & rigging up between Hampton, St Kilda & Bono!! Haha, ah well its the sport we've chosen!!

I must say i loved my sail at Bono Sat arvo. Was great being able to sail wherever i wanted unlike at Invy being constrained to the channels. I reckon i'll be back up for a nice 18kt seabreeze. Can see some nice sessions between Bono & Ricketts happening.
